Still doesn’t work. He can’t do any turns on water at all, and he sinks like a rock if he’s going at anything less than top speed. And he’s never dealt with huge waves before, all the water he runs on is usually perfectly still. Also some of the tracks take place on lava, which tends to kill Sonic. So he’s perfect as he is.
There is every reason to have him in a car, and absolutely no reason to NOT have him in one.
i agree just make something up like hey tails made him some shoes that can let him run on lava and double as jet skates like shadows shoes.

Loved the first one, played the hell out of it.
The first one had my money when they announced Ryo from Shenmue. Seeing Vyse from Skies of Arcadia make it into Transformed has peaked my interest.
Sonic can’t run on lava and he can’t fly…thought that won’t stop him from easily keeping up with anything flying in the air on the ground unless there is said lava. Otherwise though he’d be broken so he needs to be nerfed with a car. The only other character I can imagine being equal in being OP would be Shadow with chaos control shenanigans.

There are no more bikes in this game, bikes were pretty OP in the last game because they could do wheelies for boost, this time everyone’s driving a quad of some description.

Complaining about Sonic being in a car is actually pretty hypocritical and arbitrary of people. I mean I don’t see people complaining that Tails is in a plane even though he can fly by himself. I don’t see people complaining about Eggman, Shadow or Knuckles being in cars despite the fact that the games clearly prove they can run just as fast as Sonic. So therefore everyone who complains about Sonic being in a car is an idiot 
HOLY SHIT JOE FROM SHINOBI!? I got the first one just because I saw the mother fucking Bonanza Bros and wanted to see what other fan-service they included and it surprisingly turned out to be an amazing kart-racer. Totally hyped for transformed.
Ryo was god-tier in the first game, dudes would kick me from matches online because I’d come in first EVERY FUCKING GAME ON EVERY MAP because I mastered the sliding+free boosts. I got my Platinum trophy a long time ago though, lol @ people getting salty over a fucking KART RACER.
