I didn’t know that there were actually 3D games out already for the PS3…Have you tried them yet? Worth getting?
Yeah it seems like after Avatar almost everyone else has to have their movie in 3-D too. I remember one horror movie before Avatar that had 3-D and it was like maybe the only one or maybe one of two movies that whole year shown in 3-D. Games are now incorporating it too. I wish they weren’t it’ll all soon fade away anyway.
I haven’t played them but watched the demos at work. Nothing too crazy, it was a racing game so I didn’t expect much anyways. I got a feeling newer games in the future are going to be designed for 3D, as in, they will purposely make stuff flying at the screen and make it look like its coming at you. Right now, when you watch 3D when it isn’t meant for 3D, it looks like its just layered so it does give a 3D effect, but nothing is coming at you because the director didn’t anticipate it to be in 3D.
Watch, in the future, you will see horror movies where they are throwing the knife at you or stuff that is more in 1st person so it looks like you’re involved.
Hey, wait…wasn’t there a 3d version of re5 on pc?
Those 3D glasses will be a disaster…
I give it a year or maybe less until You start hearing about eye health problems as a direct result of using them…
mortal kombat 9 is supposedly being developed for 3D tv’s.
I’ve had a migraine & nosebleed this past week, got my 3dtv Wednesday…
No more stupid glasses by 2011? http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5g392W9sJp2tOS_EPOHJQWyAGDWqg
If nintendo can do it why is everyone else so slow to catchup? =P
you all dont know what you are talking about!!! atleast try it before you call bullshit.
I was in panasonic center (Tokyo) last week and checked out some of the newest 3d TVs and its AWESOME!!! imo it works even better than in 3d cinemas, maybe because the screen is closer. if they werent so damn expensive I would have already gotten one. even the freaking golf ad was awesome in 3d.
and yes there are also 3d tvs without glasses, but you have to be straight in front of the screen for it to reach your eyes properly and get the 3d effect. it wont work properly for multiple people sitting next to another.
It is just because 3D is not a mature tech right now. I think it needs at least another 5 years to make it more popular for us. Yeap, it is pricey right now, but who knows after 3 years? 5 years? May it fails to live then as you wish
Because it works only at a specific point at a specific distance from the screen. Easy to do on a portable, not so much in your living room.
Yeah i fucking watched some golf 3d on comcast on demand…Shit its not that expensive for a 3DTV its almost the same as a regular tv, just a couple hundred more…
So far not much material, i can only watch Aliens vs Monster so many times, getting Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs soon…Hopefully some of the NBA games will be in 3d this year…
I have no vision in my right eye. In day to day life it’s no big deal, but 3d movies are a mess.
In the future will their ever be a 3D that can be used by people who are blind in one eye.
i think you’re shit out of luck, did the people’s eyebrow to many times…
Not with the way 3D is supposed to work, sadly. 3D, or stereoscopic vision, requires the brain to process two slightly different images to give the perception of depth. With only one eye, there would have to be another way that acts on the brain directly.
I saw this thing on tv from some science/electronics convention, it does real 3d - not just trick your brain like the current one does. looked kinda like a hologram, you could also walk around it and see it from all sides. but I guess it’ll be atleast 15-20 years until people have something like that in their living room.
I think the whole 3D crap is a bulls*it gimmick. For example, in order to play games in 3D you NEED:
#1- The glasses
#2- Wearing said glasses at ALL times
#3- A 3D TV
#4- Only games with modes specifically MADE FOR 3D will work. Want to play God of War 3 in 3D? Too bad!
#5- Any guests watching without the glasses will only be seeing a blurry mess.
^^ Until they can come up with the tech to where no glasses are involved, and EVERYTHING can be made 3D-able with the push of a button, its crap by default.
Anyway i played one of the recent wipeout games at bestbuy on their 3D tv, and while i though the 3D looking stuff was kinda neat, i still was not remotely impressed to the degree that i’d ever consider forking over the $$$ for a 3D TV.
Not only was the 3D effect not THAT great, but the “awe” of seeing it wears off after about 7 minutes. I’d much rather play a game normally in HD goodness instead.
3D= Gimmick
HD-TV= Still the future
