Someone needs to say it: HAKAN STILL SUCK!

Goooo david

lmao people are actually complaining about hakan? Shenanigans ARE annoying, but gimmicks can only go so far. U2 option selects are pretty legit though.

As cool as it may be to say you play Hakan so much and you are an expert on the subject (which by no means am I denying you of your right to be condescending), what does it say about Hakan that only one or two people play him at a “World class” level…

Is it possible that these players are just VERY VERY good, that in a data set they would be considered **outliers **or rare/extreme results? Or is it that nobody knows how to play Hakan even though he’s had a good solid year to diffuse into the community? What does it say about the character when only a select few can play him at a very high level, but yet other characters like Ryu or Guile or Sagat are played at a decently high level and are way more common than Hakan? I mean you’d think with the amount of skill in high level play SOMEONE would know some of these “advanced” techniques that apparently no one uses, or maybe it’s just us low level players who hold the secret to Hakan.

I’m not arguing with you, I am simply giving you a different viewpoint that I believe you are missing.

i think that is kindof the default viewpoint, so I think everyone is aware of it.
can argue all day, I guess we cant say nothing until someone starts doing things.

And i know every low tier char forum is full of heads saying that their char is ‘soo underrated/untapped potential…’ hahaa; but I really buy into it here in AE.

start doing things

You guys (The ones who are complaining) should be grateful that Hakan is a better character overall. He’s not where most of you guys want him to be, but he’s closer to being a more solid character, and that’s counts alot. I play T.Hawk, and even though I strongly feel he needs alot more, I’m happy he’s a better character. This is best time for Hakan Players because this is his best incarnation. Be happy (And don’t troll please :)).

I can almost imagine if capcom is running out of ideas in the future they will create not only a ground controller character like hakan. But a character that has similar philosophy to lei fei’s Virtua fighter 5 where his stance has several strengths and weaknesses but he’s made to be stoic and stationary, when they do that I’ll try that character for sure! Unorthodox Street fighter character hehe.

Just my input, I think the psychology to playing hakan is this imagine you are a wall that move ever closer and closer to your enemy. His entry method is closing in horizontally thru -> HP, -> mp, and -> mk. I remember when people say his jabs and pokes were all beaten by other char’s jabs. That’s cause we haven’t got the “feel” of his active frames yet. For me personally, when I play hakan in this psychology I tend to be able to concentrate more on watching and estimating the opponent’s movement ending in better pokes, better control of my space (slide under jump ins) and back dashing to retreat for oil or more oil. Just a tip, but I hope this might be helpful to some ppl.

I just was passing thru and came into this thread. I have to agree with the above and with some of the posters when I say Hakan’s full potential has not yet been released. As an Adon player, I have to be careful how I play against Hakan since he has a command grab and slide + U2 can be annoying… Soooooooooooo annoying.

@ Thread starter, on a serious note if you dont want to use Hakan then dont play him. The point is you will have more fun playing a character you like rather than tier whoring + it feels damn good to win with a low tier character. Making a thread to tell others to not use Hakan is really just telling others you suck with Hakan point blank. With that said, just find another character and an english manuscript while you’re at it.
