Well, if ya’ll don’t mind coming down to the valley, I’ll probably be having gatherings at my crib once my sister is moved out of the apt…I’m taking over the lease in November with a buddy of mine and I’m sure he wouldn’t mind you guys coming over every once in awhile…I’ll keep ya posted
How in the heck did that first SNK gathering happen anyways? So long ago… -_-
It was fun though and another gathering is always welcome, but it seems most people’s schedules are conflicting right now (right?). Let’s bring on the matches people!
Hey, Id. How did that Flashback tourney go? I showed up early and played one really tough Hanzo/Ukyo player in SS2 and a grip of people in Vampire Saviour (tho they all quit after one loss). I left before the tourney, but the games I got in were real fun. Even had a few MKII matches and watched some KI-heads go at it.
Oh, and as far as your SNK cab goes, prolly any game where people will want to play each other, but it seems the SNK crowd is only near the AI area and not FFA.
You also mentioned a KOFXII loc test at FFA! YAY! Go, Id!
The Flashback tournament didn’t go. We only had one or two people per game (I was the only entrant for Vampire Savior). A whole lot of people were really interested, asking how it went, looking for results, etc. but not enough people were actually into those old games.
I think the line-up for the Neo Geo games will depend on the button setup. If I can get a traditional button layout then I can add all sorts of games. However, if I have to use the cabinets default layout I’ll be in a bit of a pickle.
For example:
KoF/GMotW will go like this:
A C
B D
While SS/WHP and some others go like this:
A B
C D
We might experiment with what options we have. If I can’t do a traditional setup I’ll probably put in:
- King of Fighters 2002
- Garou: Mark of the Wolves
- Fatal Fury Special
- Breaker’s Revenge
Games that will make sense with:
A C
B D
All King of Fighters
All Fatal Furys (Not RBFF)
Garou: Mark of the Wolves
Breakers Games
Rage of the Dragons
If I can get a traditional setup then I’d at least swap out Breaker’s Revenge for World Heroes Perfect, but then again, Rage of the Dragons wouldn’t be a bad choice for the above setup either.
We had planned a location test with SNK back when the game was supposed to come out in December. Since it’s been pushed back to April we don’t know the date that we’ll be having the loc test. We’ll still have it, but we’ll need to wait until the game is in their required % of completion.
Right now I’m super busy with school so I wont be able to attend anything until winter break it seems. Hopefully we can plan something around then but I’m sure some of use are doing things with family then as well.
If you guys plan a meet for Dec, please don’t plan it anytime between 16-22 unless those are the only days. I’m heading to Houston to help with a con/tourney during that time.
cya tonight dave :wgrin:
Yeah I’m totally down with Breakers Revenge fo sho!
You know, I was just playing on a traditional Neo Geo setup at Moorpark College, and I didn’t remember A and B being so far apart. If I aim for making a traditional setup, would it be bad to make A and B a little closer? I was playing strikers and I kept missing my bomb button.
Confirmed:
Iori/Clark/Takuma
KOF 98 UM :woot:
Sooo… KoF2k2:UM v^_^?
Depending on which Neo cab you play on, the A and B will be spaced differently.
Ah, thanks. Do some cabinets have ABCD all curved too? This cabinet had BCD in a straight line across.
Some are curved perfectly, some have
…B C D
A
Most of the US cabs(big reds) are the latter, while Japanese cabs are curved. I know a lot of people who’ve modded their cabs layout to their liking.
I prefer to use the Neo Geo home stick and connect it to cabs if the board allows it. I hook it in through the coin slots and play.
^ball’n
who are you?
just a local snk player, i know Noc and Giby, used to go to garou meets with them
whoa your 661? Where in the 661 are you?
He’s in Palmdale, which is slightly better than Lancaster…but that’s not saying much
true true
we got sonics atleast?
He, don’t rub it in, ya bastard…at least we have more desert, crack heads, religious nuts, empty homes, and a horrible economy…wait…
