i know there are people in SoCal who play SNK games…and there are!

We hold Garou meets usually every now and then whenever anyone of us is free usually on Saturdays. I also play most of the SNK somewhat so I dont mind playing others if people are down.
What’s up…I’m in Los Angeles closer to the east side near LACC rendering both UCLA and FFA a pain and an ass to drive to whenever I want to play something, and they don’t really have much snk stuff regardless. The arcade across the street from LACC has some random snk games but the cabs are always broken.
There used to be an arcade beside that one that had the newest snk games on a bigger screen cab (i remember people playing the hell out of 2k2) but that arcade closed and I have no idea where the players went.
Would love to find some comp around here
There is an arcade in El Monte, it’s called Grand Slam. I have not been there in a long time, but I do remember that a good crowd consistently showed up to play the KOF games throughout the week, more so on the weekends.
It is located at the intersection of Valley Blvd. and Santa Anita, within an existing plaza with an Edwards Cinemas as the anchor. Look up the number and call for a specific address to obtain driving directions.
AI is the usual place where a lot of the hardcore (FOBs) play SNK games. At least they used to. There are still some SvC and KOFXI players still… occasuonally some mexican people will come and own up KOF2002
There is an KoF XI machine at the College of the Canyons arcade. I doubt its gunna be taken out, cause that thing gets a lot of play.
all these places in the boondocks…there has to be some L.A. people hiding somewhere

It takes me about 20 minutes for me to have the transition mastered.

Yeah AI has KOF XI, KOF2k2, KOF98, Samsho5sp, SamshoTenka, and SVC Chaos.
I play KOF 98 and 2k2 every now and then, but if you’re ever at AI, play me at KOF XI(I don’t pick top tiers) and especially Samurai Spirits Tenka.(Hanzo, Jubei, Nicotine, Basara, and Yumeji). 
Also, LWK plays beastly at KOF2k2.

I play all of those (total n00b to Samsho)
plus MvC2, CvS2, MBAC, Slash, and if I fell like getting owned I’ll play 3s, HNK, or Arcana Heart.
But, I tear up XI, CvS2, and some slash there.
EDIT: I might be able to go to AI this weekend.
looks like I am going to have to travel one weekend to check out this AI/super arcade thing…

finally saved up enough $ to go. (won’t go with anything under $20)
played a lot of re-bout this weekend (along with some super turbo), trying to upgrade the pad so it is more amenable to having guests over…definitely open to hosting some gatherings shortly
id like maybe join the motw gatherings, where do you guys usually meet up?
