So When Was The Last Time You Rented A Movie?

I sometimes rent movies from Scarecrow Video in Seattle WA. They have a HUUUGE selection of rare hard-to-find videos. Stuff that ‘might’ have a torrent somewhere online, but there will be zero seeds.

Last week I think. Prince of Persia and Cash (the french movie, not the american one that came out a week after).

Other than Netflix, the last movie I actually went to a store to rent myself was that new Rocky movie. This was back like in 2007 or so.

i still go to blockbuster to rent games every now and then. but thats it. The last time i rented a movie was some rare movie i cant remember. I ripped and uploaded it for some cyber cred.

I haven’t walked into a video rental store in almost 6 years. Netflix = win.

I rented Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds from Blockbuster.

I think that was last year. Don’t know for sure. Heard Tha Block is going bankrupt though. Is that true?

OP: Where we live, almost all the Rogers video’s are gone, blockbuster is going chapter 11, and Steel City Video crumbled after all these years. I’ve rented the occasional game from BB, but I never respected their return policy, nor did almost anybody else. I haven’t rented anything in MANY years, and I haven’t bought a movie or cd since Napster

last time i rented was before i discovered movie2k.com.

Pretty sure they file for bankruptcy a few months back.

I rent DVDs and Blu-Rays from Netflix. Does that count?

It’s been years since I’ve rented one at a physical store. I had a blockbuster membership for years and apparently had a 4 dollar late fee that wasn’t paid when we rented something. Anyway, I hadn’t been there in years and decided I wanted to get something and they had closed my account and reported me to a collection agency for 4 fucking dollars. Since then I’ve just bought the movies I’ve wanted, or borrowed from friends. Then I got netflix at the begining of this year and haven’t looked back. Now I wouldn’t walk into a rental store if you paid me.

in 2007 i lived a few months without internet, indeed without even a computer, so we got a hollywood video card and rented a few movies and games from there.

Shiiiiit, it’s been awhile since I rented something. I think it was 20/20 video, rented Heavy Metal 2000.

I just barely got into Netflix though, it is great. Thinking about gamefly, I hear they lag it with new releases though.

Pretty often. Friend of mine works at a Blockbuster so we get shit for free.

When was the last time I paid to rent something? Years ago.

  1. Thank god for internet.

Red box for the win. Just 1 dollar for 1 day.

I can’t even remember the last time I rented a movie from an actual store. I started renting via cable On-Demand years ago, and nowadays it’s mostly Blockbuster Express or Netflix unless cable has it first.

I only buy movies if its worth it and its usually the major movies that i seen in the theatres. Everything else, I rent through redbox.

a steal!

i still go to Hastings occasionally to grab something i feel like watching immediately. very impatient.
