That’s why I use the manly Pink color. ;D
I mean, Jin is good, but people use him cheaply online, IMO. He’s so fun to watch, though.

These Jins are fucking spamming the WRONG move.
Fuck. DP.
NOT ICECAR
SPAM THAT SHIT
When people say this, I always laugh. Like Nu is supposed to not use drive or something.
It’s just like all the Gief/shoto hate when sf4 first came out. “OMG I HATE LARIAT/SRK SPAM, IT’S TOO HIGH PRIORITY AND HARD TO BEAT OMGOMGOMGOGMGOMG!!!” I never complained always had an easy time against these “spammers” because I learned enough about the game to counter these moves.
On the contrary you can learn a LOT from an icecar spammer if you are losing to it (which you said you are). For example HOW TO BEAT IT. Your opponent it continually spamming the same move over and over and you’ve yet to learn to beat it. That’s your own fault not theirs.
:u: Exactly. If you see someone spamming ice car, stand and BLOCK. Then punish them afterwords with a combo of your choice. Ice car is like +10 frames on block or something, you have a lot of time to do what you want if you just blocked.
Hakumen spammers?!?!? I assume you’re talking about people using his C too much? The same C that has TREMENDOUS startup AND recovery?
As for Jin…I hate him. He’s annoyingly spammable, but that’s not my big issue with him. My issue with Jin is that he has 6 different ways to FREEZE you. WTF? When I lose to a Jin it’s because I was frozen and unable to move…nothing more.
Freeze > free combo, freeze > free combo, freeze > free combo, etc.
I make people love Jin.
Seriously, get compliments after matches all the time.
But I like Jin and Arakune… =/
Just shake your joystick.
First off no combo is a “free” combo so the statement that freeze is a free combo is a complete asinine statement and the fact that you are getting combo’d after a freeze means Jin is either zoning you correctly or setting up for a freeze combo in the first place.
The fact is every character in the game has a gimmick to them that helps give them control of the match in some manner and is often incorporated into their combo’s. Nu has her swords where most of the time a single hit equals to one of her combo’s. Noel’s Drive is an automatic combo in itself and all of her damaging combo’s lead into that drive. Tager’s magnetism gimmick leads to his damaging combo’s and his drive magnetizes you on hit or block. Litchi’s staff when utilized properly gives her incredibly good corner control and resets. Repeat for every other character.
Jin undeservedly gets a lot of hate because he is the easiest character to learn in the game and has some things to him that unskilled people get caught by.
So when I get frozen, I’m unable to move/defend, and don’t have enough time to shake off the ice prior to the next attacks, that’s not a FREE combo for Jin? Then, tell me, what exactly is it?
I understand that every character has a “gimmick”. Saying that doesn’t undermine the fact that Jin’s primarily gameplan involves his opponent being unable to move. The only other “gimmicks” that rival Jin’s freezing are the gimmicks of the top 3.
It’s not that I’m bad against most Jin users, they’re just annoying to fight. Where most characters have some type of meter or restriction to using their gimmick, Jin gets freebies whenever and wherever he wants with his spammable freeze attacks.
My buddy (tao player) played 50 ranked matches last night on XBL to get the 200 ranked matches achievement. All but four of them were Jins.
I only hate laggy Jins
Scrubby Jins are annoying especially the ones that pick the black red palette, who ever picks that one is automatically a scrub in my eyes.
For the record: Some players pick the black/red pallette just to make you think they are a scrub right before smashing you into the corner repeatedly and pwnage occuring. I wouldn’t judge based on color scheme EVER. Always play to the best of your ability, unless you don’t mind losing.
I guess by that logic, Buppa is a total scrub .
how about just a kid that thinks black and red are all ‘dangerous’ and ‘cool’?
*I don’t know the guy being namedropped, but goth noel/jins can are kinda dumb.
It’s not a free combo at all. The fact is he set you up for that freeze which is one of his combo starters. That’s like saying any other character combo starters is a free combo. 5D doesn’t combo from a distance and the best distance combo we have is going into Ice Car but that’s a 2 link combo so you can hardly count that as a free combo cause I could easily do 5C into ice car. Jin’s D moves have horrible start up frames and leave him extremely vulnerable to punish if whiffed or blocked with the exception of 5D but it’s combo follow ups are extremely limited. Every other character in the game has combo’s off of their D moves or have ways to combo into them. Putting Jin’s D moves as free combo’s is ridiculous.
If you review high level Jin play you would realize how stupid of a statement that is. I do a reverse cross up triple sword freeze that sets me up for a combo and that’s supposedly a free combo? So, my cross up freezes is less of a combo then say Litchi crossing up with j.B[m] into a combo?
You really don’t understand high level Jin play at all. We don’t base our game plan on making our opponent’s unable to move. We zone you with freeze based attacks to get in close so we can rush the shit out of you with frame traps in hopes you fuck up so we can deal our high damage combos. Our high damage combo’s don’t start off with a freeze it usually starts off with a normal or an EX Special of some sort. Please don’t comment on how Jin plays if you really don’t understand the character.
Nu has no restrictions on her swords and the majority of her combos start or lead into it. Noel can D Spam as well and combo off of it at any point. A lot of character have that ability without the limitation as well so your analysis on Jin’s really has no merit to it.
But you can concede, I’d hope, that freeze (and especially his throw) allows you to do a ton of crap online that you can’t do offline, right?
And that people might find that annoying?
Any character that lots of scrubs flock to get a bad reputation.
In Street Fighter 4, it’s Ken. You can’t help but assume that everytime someone picks ken on xbl, they’re a scrub; it’s the same with Jin in this game. Scrubs just flock to Jin, and they give Jin just a bad rep.
I really hate Jin. Especially the good ones. His 623 b,c and especially d is freaking fast. You don’t even see it coming. Ice freeze is annoyingly too good. If you get poke by D its all over. if you block a combo in the corner you see an opening, he’ll back up spam D then 623 which you don’t see coming. LOL at ambiguous air dash d cross up.
