SF sucked after SF2. Although alpha series had good gameplay, it used shitty cartoony style sprites, unlike the realistic and gritty SF2 sprites. Then SF3 used some weird ass overly exaggerated cartoon style, which again, no where near as good as classic SF2 sprites. Colors didn’t even make fucking sense, like why did chars have odd hues of other colors on their fucking clothes? It’s not like the game had dynamic lighting or some shit, so wtf?
Lastly, SF4 used 3d models. This could have been fucking awesome, since the game could have looked like Tekken 6 but been on a 2d plane. Instead it looked more like ass and anal waste, and the characters had fucking gorilla faces(ie. Ken and Ryu). Then they added shit chars like sakura dan and hakan, and it was gg.
I really, really, REALLY wanna get my hands on 3rd strike and alpha 3 and play it on my ps2 or ps3 but problem is i wouldn’t know where to begin looking for 3rd strike and i want to play the FULL alpha 3 game and the one in alpha collection on ps2 is just the arcade version. If anyone knows how i could burn the games on cd and play them on ps3 somehow or just where i could pick up copies of these games it’d be great. Seems like they were already hard to find in stores even when i first got my dreamcast at 13.
me personal i really started playing fighting games about 3 years ago playing 3rd strike on ggpo with a couple of buddies of mine, yea i played street fighter 2 when i was younger but something about 3rd strike, the fast speed the parry system that made the game weird but really fun to play.
i pick ibuki and although i gotten better i still get my ass kick on ggpo.
it kind of sad i kind of wish 3rd strike had a bigger audience then sf4 because a see 3rd strike and alpha 3 (just started playing it love alpha 3 gen) a lot better game then street fighter 4. i just wish alpha 3 had more people playing on ggpo.
i would play 3rd strike more but their is a lot of assholes on ggpo, only a few players i like playing against.
i know that 3rd strike compilation disc for ps2 is at gamestop.com,but i’ve never seen a sfalpha3 disc anywhere…that is waaaaaay rare and hard to find…your best chance is on ebay for that sfalpha3 ps2 game.
p.s.—at the gamestop.com site…even if it looks like they dont have it while browsing…if you register n sign up there, you can ask them by filling out their contact us form…ask that your looking for SF alpha 3 ps2 game that is NOT part of the compilation of alpha games disc…
and they’ll eventually track it down for you.

And considering owning stock in Capcom for why we defend it or insert reason here, it has NOTHING to do with that. It’s love for the game- an amazing gem that has been scrutinized, misunderstood, hated on, and regarded as 'trash" by many because of either being too hard and advanced, no Blanka, Guile, Honda, etc, or just not bothering giving the series a chance because its not SFII.
