Turtle in GG = loose your super
Turlte in BB = you receive twice more damage
Except in BB, playing more defensively is not very forgiving compare to GG.
Which is a good thing
I like my fighters to be a rush fest, it makes it more fun :bgrin:
In relation to gameplay style…
Rachel has triangle jumps and strong mix-ups.
Taokaka also has strong mix-ups and is incredible fast.
In relation to tiers…
V13 / Arakune / Rachel are the top 3.
Oh hey can I join in the MORONIC hate bandwagon that pops up on SRK every time GG / MB / BB / AH random ANIMEEEEE gameZ gets brought up?
Shit, I’ll drive!
VVVVVRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
I defend just find in GG. But let’s be honest with ourselves. My friend use Faust, burns the fuck out of meter and throw shit all over the place. Don’t get me wrong I beat him, but I have a hard time beating him beause of the random factor in this matchup. I play Baiken a character with very low stamina, so eating random pokes by Faust is bad. And yeah, all Faust has to really do is mash, and a lot of times something favorable will happen. It’s a very awkward matchup for me at least. I’m not sure who is at the advantage here, but it seems that random mashing seems to help out faust a lot.
When he play his Sol and try to mash, I totally fuck him up though. But he’s a random player in general in any game we play together. And unforuntaly GG to some degree really compliments some randomness. Maybe not at Marvel level, but you can still get hit by random shit in that game.
America is the only place that has the negative stereotypes for Guilty Gear. Guilty Gear was the most popular 2D fighting game in Japan for almost 3 years, and is still incredibly popular to this day. Also probably isn’t very popular because it’s incredibly difficult to get into the game, and get good. Until Accent Core, atleast.
Also, the reason why America hates Guilty Gear so much is primarily because of the terrible releases we got.
XX had limited arcade release, had American console release
#R came out 1 year later, no console release for like a year, only on XBox. (evo ran XX again, everyone hated it)
2 years later, Slash came out, no console release in America, big drop-off on players.
A year later, Accent Core came out. Had an american release, and this boosted the popularity of the series to the same levels of XX times.
Not to mention, EVO fucking Guilty Gear players every year until this year. Not really their fault, just ArcSys’s.
Um …
So … you’re talking like you understand Guilty Gear, yet you mash buttons…? I’m sorry, please stop posting in this thread. You have no idea what you’re talking about.
hiii koogy chan~
i remember that i read one time that gg was designed to be noob friendly i never believed it, but your statement remind me that,
this randomness that you say is not absent from sf4 either, i have some friends who never play sf (or any fighting game), and they like to mash buttons and moves without knowing what are they doing in sf4 and they pull of some good combos, specially with the shotos, also i found that playing with people who doesnt know anything of fg (im talking about the mentallity of the fighting gamer here) can lead to funny events in the matches, where you would be like wtf
his friend likes to mash buttons, not him
just to extend a little bit, in usa there is an unexplicable hate towards the anime style, so gg gets hate for it too
Well after reading the few GOOD posts in here, I am pretty excited about learning a new system. I have been a SF fan boy but I do kinda hate how limiting the combo system is but like it at the same time.
I need a game where I can have some fun flashy combos that I will pay casually and it looks like BB is it.
Sure I may not be able to do fun flashy combos on high level players but damn, it will be fun just doing them casually.
hello master chibi :3
I didn’t say I mash buttons, I said my friend who I play in Gear mashes buttons. I play Baiken, you can’t really mash with her. I’m saying if I’m using Baiken, who has poor stamina versus a Faust player. Faust can random poke into combos putting Baiken at a major health disadvantage. And he can randomly throw shit on the screen and turtle. He doesn’t actually have to know what he’s doing, and that would more than likely help him most of the time. It’s incredibly annoying to even get hit by this stuff, even if you’re defending and blocking everything, mashing Faust has range and priority. A lanky and hard to hit hitbox, and random shit he can throw all over the screen. That’s the random factor that exist in GG sometimes.
Reading comprehension. I said I own his Sol when he tries to mash, because obviously Sol has less random shit going for him than Faust does.
Not to mention that the U.S. is very heavily populated by Fighting Game Conservatives.
Which means a majority of U.S. players will only play fighters if it has the name “Street Fighter” or “Capcom”, they will refuse to play any other fighters.
While Japan is filled with Fighting Game Liberals since they will play any new fighters competitively.
if the fighting game is good may i add
this thread would be 1000x better if it was just koogy’s posts
word
Fighting game fans have tried Guilty Gear I’m sure. non fighting games fans haven’t. This is the cast regardless of what country you live in. Most people I know in my local scene are going to try out Blaze Blue, many of them have no Guilty Gear background. I think you’re trying to take it to some extra level that isn’t there.
Oh yeah, about turtling. You can turtle in Guilty Gear. Play a decent Baiken and try to rush her down without thinking and see’s what happens. And I haven’t played BB, but it appears that Haku-men can make can really make you pay for liner rushdown.
thats why i always say that you cant rush mindlessly on gg, you would be slaughtered in no time by any descent player, not to say by a high level player, take for example chipp vs zato (eddie), rushing mindlessly against him would lead to a defeat in less than 20 seconds, in this battle you need to control your position on the screen according to the position of eddie and what he is doing, and this needs some turtling for it
The amount of bullshit in this thread is staggering. Gj holding strong, Hecatom. I wish you had a 360 so we could thrash in BlazBlue.
sup guys street fighter is not anime its the manliest game ever and you’re a sad otaku if you disagree
ive only played street fighter games ever
