You can’t advertise something as big as a Japan vs. US 5 on 5 before you officially have the players booked, let alone a month before the event – that’s really disappointing to hear if that was the plan. Because things like this happen very easily. Too much can go wrong or change when they don’t have a plane ticket and itinerary in their hands and a rock-solid confirmation, and it makes everybody look bad

I tried to see if I could get the club to piggyback with the anime club but I didnt get enough support from some of the lazy asses that were supposed to help me. I’m talking to Hungrybox right now. We have a venue that is only big enough for the smash community (we are already stretching it) because we can’t afford the down payment for a bigger, better venue that could also hold the SRK players.
I WANT to have the SRK players with us though, but we just need your guys help. Is there any way anyone could help out on the down payment for a nicer venue? We are trying to get a ballroom at a hotel but we will need more money since venues require money FIRST.
We plan on having around 100 or so smashers, possibly more, with a $20 venue fee. That’s ~2k which is the price we want to pay for the venue as a whole. Plus the SRK guys, that is more than enough money to pay for the venue and reimburse people the money they put in.
If anyone can help with this, please contact me. We will work the best we can with taking care of you guys.
if we can get a rough estimate of how many who are expecting to come… im sure it would help u guys get a venue quicker? i know ToT2 will have atleast 50 people and im sure at least more than half will show…
With the right support, we can make this thing even bigger than what it was going to be.
Me and Plank are brainstorming the tournament, and we might use a certain Fairgrounds w/ 10,000 sq. feet.

Hell yea we need to make a “Community Comeback” tourney, I’m sure we’ve got enough people still planning on going down there. This is for the community by the community now, nobody to f**k up.
Like, how many SRK guys do you think would come exactly? If I can get a guarantee of like 50 and a little bit of money for the down payment, I could easily set this up. I already have a venue in mind and know all the logistics/prices, I simply need to know we will be able to cover it.
