No, it’s not that simple because a simple yes or no answer would give you the room you need to twist my words around.
A different doll instead of Decapre wouldn’t be bad, but it would be no better. A character that isn’t a doll instead of Decapre would be a good idea. A character that looked nothing like Cammy but played exactly like her would be a bad idea.

Namco, bandai, sega, capcom, nintendo, snk, etc. So i believe it had more to do with the 96-98 asian financial crisis than bad management or bad games (actually, those years hold some of the best games of the said companies). All of them had to use mass demissions at the time, what mantained them alive but drasticaly reduced their capacity of producing new products. Some abandoned the hardware production, some abandoned the software production, some stayed only as publishers, some have merged with other companies, etc.
Capcom had let go of arcade production as a whole and focused in 3D games for consoles, what compared to 2D games were cheaper and faster to produce.
Even then, a void in the game industry of japan have been created, and new companies gladly filled it. Or they were already existing small companies that had been doing 3rd party jobs (like ASW), or they are companies created by ex-employers of big companies. In both cases, they already had a lot of experience of the productive flow and only needed a chance to grow. With big names suddenly becoming weaker and sony distributing developer kits for psone, it became the ideal scenario for them.[/details]

All this is very different with what happened to capcom now. They invested a lot of money in sfxt , but it turned out not beeing so popular for a lot of things. For a big project like this, they would expect at least 300% of profits to cover production expenses, updates, get a pay off and funding a new project of the same scale or bigger. And it had to be reached in the first months, not 2 years after the launch.
In my opinion, it don’t looks like the goals with crosstekken had been achieved. So, beffore trying a new project, they maked the decision to take a less risky project. With less investment and more guaranteed return, porting the chars and scenarios of crosstekken to sfIV was ideal for them. Recicling a 3D model and some animations to create a new character was part of this decision too.
So, if vampire savior or alpha series aren’t seeing a return now, it’s mostly because of bad decisions in crosstekken than anything else. Hope they don’t comit the same mistakes of xtekken again[/details]
