Ehhhh. Juli is okay given her T. Hawk relationship but she’s also catatonic during this game(I know. They can retcon whatever the fuck) but they probably would have played like Cammy mostly. If they were gonna do a duo I’d rather have Xiayu and Jianyu since they’re weapon users and would probably fight with more originality. Santamu could have brought her monkey and that would have been pretty interesting. If they had to do a Doll Decapre is my favorite choice. Other than maybe Santamu.
Seeing that Juni and Juli are noncombatants. Decapre though not “visually” interesting at the other 10 dolls they could have picked but in terms of weapon/style and potential back story to fit her into continuity she was most likely the best canidate…so they went with that abet even if it went using tired old tropes along the way.
Any of the other dolls would have been a better choice, it wouldnt be hard to use Cammys model and just give her a different hair style and different moves . You aren’t going to convince the thousands of anti Decapre haters that she isnt a bad and lazy design with saying shes in the lore, when there are a lot more Dolls in the lore
I think you’re focusing too much on the model here. If the only point you want to make is “they reused the model” then…you’re right. Congrats? Feel better now? Changing her hair to be one of the other dolls would not have been some fucking crazy innovation.

If you changed up hair and skin color, her hair style; Decapre would still be a Cammy clone.
Decapre was nothing new, shes been floating around since Alpha as a background character.
If we made the 5th character Eliza, everyone would accuse Capcom of making a female Ken.
If we brought in Jessica Haggar she be accused of being female version of either Cody or Mike Haggar.

By this logic even if this update costed $60 We should all just STFU , since we would buy it anyway to play with the community.
Capcom knows they cant just sell a balance update ( which is what everyone actually wanted) for $15 , so they added a bunch of copy pasta character to justify the cost. Nobody here would be complaining if the balance update and characters were all sold separate ( So people can just buy whoever they want). But Capcom knows nobody would buy a Cammy clone , so they bundled her up with the remaining copy pasta character to justify the $15 price tag.
I am surprised we got something like v2012 for free , perhaps they were in a better financial situation then.
Also this has to be the laziest clone ever done , I am sure people would be raging about Evil Ryu if he was just Ryu Color 10 with a Raging demon ultra or something. Again its not like Oni and E Ryu were received with welcome arms , but the fact that Yun/Yang were NEW characters sort of calmed ppl down. This edition is literally just port of SFxT Chars and stages , so you cant expect people to not get angry at how lazy this update is.
Decapre is literally Dark and Edgy Cammy with a mask on , any other doll would at least have some different aesthetics and visual design.
Its like how if you had to pick two out of Ryu,Ken,Evil Ryu. Everyone would go with Ryu and Ken.
Yes People would still complain , but not as much as how things are right now. Also I think people are already pissed off with how DBZ Anime the game has become with chars like ERyu and Oni. Decapre is just adding to that. Maybe some of the other dolls wouldnt have done that.
So we’re still stuck on what she looks like? There are TWO Ryus in this game… TWO. I want to give Oni a pass but, there are still TWO Akumas. Decapre is a doll. Though she’s supposed to look like Cammy as far as lore and story goes, she’s a different character. But she’s the problem? You guys aren’t thinking logically, especially with the “it could have been another doll” argument. What could a different doll have added that Decapre doesn’t?
