SFXT Yoshimitsu - recycle some of those animations for a sword wielder and voila you have Satsuki.

For someone like Santamu or Jianyu (staff), count the weapon as part of the character model, place the hit/hurtboxes appropriately, and voila. There are plenty of stances that could have been borrowed from other characters as well, for key frames and such. Fuck, mash all of the Chinese cast together, stick a simple weapon in their hands. It’s that easy, in concept.

Let’s assess these other brilliant characters.

Ryu = Japanese Fighter
Ken = Ryu with a Kara throw & managed to get laid
Akuma = Emo Ryu
Oni = Emo Ryu on Steroids
Dan = Gay Ryu
Gouken = Emo Ryu’s Old Brother
Sakura = Ryu Wearing Panties
Sagat = Ryu trying to be different
Evil Ryu = Ryu with a fucking problem

Looking at her as a character (story, design, etc…), I really got pissed. They had since last year’s EVO to do concepts and a decent character model. I wanted Alex back too, but… They also copy/paste the SFxT characters, I didn’t expected great things at the 5th character reveal.
Now, as a fighting game character Decapre is different from Cammy. While watching the match between Ryan and Combofiend, I was slowly changing my mind about the character. She is different from Cammy, as every shoto is different from another.

This recycling situation happened to SF since the second version of the game. One with the 4 bosses, another with Turbo settings and the list goes on until Super Turbo. As a regular player, I don’t like it. As a competitive player I think it’s good because it keeps the competition alive.

Yeah, now I have to agree with that, she’s quite different. My only problem with her is that her normals are the same as Cammy’s, if they changed that, she could be completely respectable.
