I don’t see how you relate My Little Pony’s style to Skullgirls. It’s completely different.

I would love to join a gem tournament. Sigh there aren’t much.
I think gems would put a damper on time outs but I can also see how some gems would be aiding the time outs.
- music is horrible
- characters look like Jersey Shore in rainbow colours (and you can’t disable custom colors for opponents)
- rolls are too mindless (they should be throwable at least, with no reversal option after ending the roll animation at best)
- game revolves too much around chains/target combos for my liking, combos look repetitive and boring
- pay to win DLC
- 3rd of the cast locked away until autumn because Capcom and Sony are greedy
- stages try too hard to be funny
- stages are too long
- timer is too short

1st one: No, they shouldn’t be throwable. They aren’t like Abel’s Marseilles roll that he can pop out suddenly. It just gives those who are knocked down a chance for better positioning or getting out of a corner. Since both players know that characters can only do it from the ground, it’s a 1 in 3 chance from regular knockdowns and 1 in 2 chance from hard knockdowns that the victim will roll. At that point The attacker can still be in just as good a position than if the roll function wasn’t in the game in the first place.
2nd: And what, the 15-20 second long combos that just about everyone does/will do in UMvC3 aren’t repetitive?
Sorry, pointing out what I conceive as the worst points in that argument.
Voicing displeasure in something isn’t being emo, unless you like being spoon fed shit by capcom when better games are around.
High level players will play what has money surrounding it, they don’t give a fuck if the game is good or not. Everyone played SF4, and a lot of great players are even playing MK9 now because of dat mlg money.
The game has some merits I will give it that, 2v2 tourneys are hype as fuck and will continue to be hype. But from a sheer gameplay perspective alot of people are going to be turned off by some big problems the game has.
Rolls in any other fighter have a risk to doing them. In Tekken you can get relaunched into full combo, in KoF you lose your throw invincibility, in the Alpha series theyre punishable etc
There’s a few exceptions like Marvel and VSav where they arent punishable but these games have much better mobility and catching the roll in much easier.
Having invincible rolls with no recovery in a snail paced game is really stupid and unnecessary, Why are they so incredibly safe and free to use? It’s practically a “get out of jail free” card for anyone thats overwhelmed with pressure…
For the main topic:
I think the game is fun and has the potential to be a good game, it needs a couple of tweaks and it’ll be really amazing.
The main issues imo
-Fix the jabs so theyre not brainlessly dominating, especially for the characters that dont need it like Cammy and Rolento.
-fix the jump arcs/speed so the teleporting doesnt happen anymore, the way jumps are now pretty much every jump-in is ambiguous. its also whats causing air Tatsus to be really fuckin dumb.
-Make the stages shorter and either extend the timer or make it freeze during supers/throws.
-Make the Red life recovery slower, right now its really close to the XF3 recovery speed, if not faster.
-Either make throws have less startup or more range, there’s not need for throws to be so worthless.
-Do something to the Rolls so they’d have a risk. Recovery on the end, or make them throwable, or make them cost meter… something, anything. Make them less braindead.
-Make Ono stop releasing Pay to Win gems and stupid unneeded shit like that.
-Fix some of the sloppy Hitboxes that the next characters have; Hugo’s Splash, Rolento’s j.MK, Jin’s j.HK, Heihachi’s… everything. His f+MP should not be able to hit me when I’m in the air, there’s just no logic in that.
-Fix some of the moves that net you an air-to-air combo even without counterhit, again Hugo’s splash.
Among a few other things. I still play the game with a few players we have in our scene, I cant take it seriously though with all the derp it has. It can definitely be a great game with a few fixes.
Hopefully Capcom can see the light and start working on actually fixing the game instead of adding more gross-ness to it.
Sorry but I have to ask, what’s wrong with Jin’s j.HK?
There’s a hitbox on both legs so its super ambiguous if spaced well, just try jumping in with it a few times and you’ll see what I’m talking about. that thing has a massive hitbox.
Well, while true it’s also his only crossup attack. None of his other animations would even make sense.
I think Heihachi’s j.HK is worse ^^;. That hit box is huge! If his damn pointy haired head connects with your back it’s considered a crossup.
Heihachi in general is like a marvel 3 character. Stupid hitboxes that make no sense on all his freakin moves.
…a Capcom sponsored tournament with a decent cash prize could help this game a lot. It seems like the most realistic reason to say “we’re not worried”.

I’m just amazed that people don’t troll tekken more. The characters are pretty bland and every time you get hit it looks like your floating on the moon. If anything sfxt gave tekken some credibility for me.
This thread reminds me a lot of the first Starcraft 2 threads. Everyone was saying how broken and gimmicky the multiplayer was, but people eventually came around and now it’s bigger than ever. Took about a whole year. I think this is largely due to two things. 1. People who are good at games can’t bear the thought of being bad again so change scares them. 2. No game has a good meta game at launch, it takes multiple patches.
Let the game ride out. Most people insulting the game feel like their other games are going to be replaced and they absolutely must trash this game 24/7
