btw i think the best day to have it… is on the freeplay/registration day of EVO… so ppl can go to calpoly… register, and then head over to superarcade… we can’t have it on days of any tourneys… cuz some ppl will have EVO matches to attend to

If that happens without a tournament it’s cool by me. I could care less if it’s called a fierceslash tourney. I posted it as such because most people know that fierceslash is a dedicated SNK site. Maybe we’d garner some interest? Maybe not.

Garou is the only game to get over 25 people, yippie. My partner in fierceslash told me I was wasting my time and that SNK players outside of our circle of freinds have no interest in doing anything tournament worthy. Also that running a tournament on the other side of the U.S. for a random number of people is useless. Frankly this close to evo with little interest I think he was right.
I’m sorry if I’m not busting my ass from across the United States to set up a free event for you. Other shit came up, get over it or spend some cash and set up an event of your own. I was actually hoping to garner enough interest to have people to partner up with me on the event. I was even going to throw some money around because I’ve got it to spend. Despite the fact that unlike the Cannons I don’t have a dedicated pool of gamers that are worth investing time and money on. The Capcom scene was alive in well in Cali way before SRK even started. You want me to invest that kind of effort in resurrecting a market that never got off the ground in the US?
Sadly SNK players are lazier than any other fighting game society out there. This was no secret, but I thought I could change that, sue me. Hehe anyway I’ll be playing SNK games at Evo with or without an official/unofficial tourney. There’s some people I owe some games in Samsho =)

It basically boils down to the lack of system resources and the fact that SNK resources are pretty weak. Shit I can’t even find places to rent the boards from at a decent price. If you actually did spend all that money just to come to this deal, wow bro, you’re a champ but the state of American SNK tournaments isn’t a secret. The environment for gaming is great at Evo though I’m sure you’ll enjoy it anyway.
P.S. I’m still planning on playing, probably will string up a banner somwhere in the lounge if peeps want to play a tourney we’ll run one. As of right now what you all don’t see is all the people who said they CAN’T come over the period of the past 2 months. After counting them up Garou only has like 18 participants.

And I’m not, it’s not a matter of it not happening. Just don’t expect an elaborate setup. There aren’t enough participants and not enough people interested in making it happen. All they’re interested in doing is showing up.

You guys are alittle harsh on Uncauzi. He is from out of town, thus making it vurtially impossible for him to set things up personally. Like he said before, the SNK scene is pretty small if not dead here. If you guys are going to point a finger, then point it at yourselves. A couple of us stepped up trying to make this thing happen but all I hear is that people wont join because the tourney is going to be using JAPANESE STICKS!!!
K-4 just told everybody here that he only plays KOF and SVC using 360s. That is just pretty weak on his part, not that his opinion matters. But I just comfirmed with alot of people that they wont join because of the japanese sticks. Those people are pretty sorry in my opinion. But if the locals wont join, whos really left for the tourney.
First we try to get AES systems, which is next to impossible to put together for obvious reasons. Xbox is the next choice but really, its going to make us look bad. The next best choice is superarcade and what the fuck do I get…sticks, people dont like the sticks we are using. People feel that they will be in a disavantage using japsticks because they think it sucks. I said it a thousand time and I will say it again. All the sticks are the same. The japanese uses them, and they kicked our ass with them.
Those of you who complains about the japanese sticks are contradicting yourselves. If we do manage to put together AES systems, are you going to bitch about the Neo geo sticks?..which is alot worse than the “Sanwa” sticks that superarcade has. Do a little research on “sanwa” sticks and you will know why the japanese swore by them. Alot of you guys just dont think. All you guys just think about me me me and more me.
I dont blame Uncausi at all and you guys shouldnt either. Blame the locals who is unwilling to do anything about it. Blame the MAJORITY who wont join because of the sticks. And most importantly, blame yourselves for not supporting the community, but honestlly, I dont even think there is a snk community anymore…
Maybe I should make this more clear, Uncauzi is NOT the guy who cancelled the tourney, I did it from lack of support and interest from the community. Maybe what this community need is just causal play on their xbox, I think most of you are just to afraid to step up to the challenge of a real arcade tourney. By all means, the tourney is not officially dead, but its close to it. If more players are willing to join and not complain about the stick, then I’m going to put in even more effert into it. Right now, we just need an updated list of players who is 99% sure they are going to join. And the list of games you want to play. I have one week to set this thing up before I leave the country so better let your voice be heard RIGHT NOW. This is the last chance for everybody who wants to be involved in this. If this thing didnt happen, dont blame Uncuazi, terry fanatic, or me…blame yourselves…
Earlier In the thread i said I’d help out by bringing an Xbox and I’ll still do it. Lets make this happen, at least motw(although this could be done on DC) and 2k3. If mark of the wolves is on dc that frees up a couple xboxs for other games.

What do you need help with, exactly? Ignoring all the bullshit from everyone? We have nearly 20 people for all the important games, and I’m sure more will be willing to play when we try this shit at evo. im bringing my AES + getting my MAS Stick a neogeo cord, my stick is a Competition Stick…i have yet to decide to change the stick out for a Happs 360 or get a new MAS entirely…i will be bing my XBOX as well, mod it within the next week and have the KOF2003 ISO…The Answer as well has pledged to being his XBOX and possibly get his MAS Stick…and i have a DC stick which should function for those that would like to play on a japanese stick
My bust, bro. I know exactly how hard it is to get this running, but you gotta remember, I’m running back to the states practically blind, and one of the major reasons I wanted to go was to play against the Fierce Slash cats. Right after Evo I’m going back to NYC for a few days, so it won’t be a wasted trip if I go and I end up hating Cali for a reason other than the desert I was stationed in for almost a year. =/
I’ll bring my DCs, and if I have enough space we can do some after hours shit with my laptop if necessary. In fact, if anyone wants to record any of our stuff, bring the cams, programs, and other shit necessary, and I’ll bring the laptop and sneak some HDs from work or somethin’.
It looks like the location is the only big problem: SA or Evo. I got it all worked out so that a semi professional artist(s) is gonna work on the poster. And I also believe this thing is held at the END of JULY. So we still got some time to plan this stuff.
Since I live pretty close to CalPoly I will do WHATEVER I have to do to help Uncauzi and Fierceslash make this thing happen. So are you all WITH ME? Like I said there’s only one issue here: SA (Super Arcade with japanese sticks) or Evo (consoles with stick of your choice) or Either (fine with either way). Please state whether you prefer SA or Evo or Either ASAP until 6/30. I’ll tally up all the totals and post up the results on 7/1…and then we’ll make a final decision with the poll results in mind.

i agree i play with both …but i prefer japanese sticks better than 360s becuase u can hold then ‘wine glass style’ it gives a better grip and better motions… plus u can hear them ‘click’ and they’re not as ‘stiff’ as 360s… 360s are ok… i just preffer japanese style sticks…
oh i also forgot to say that u could aslo speak spanish… them mexicans LOVE their SNK(kof)…also about the community i know for a FACT that most of the better snk players don’t post here on SRK… they post in chinese or viet forums… they see SRK as a ‘capcom fanboy site’… so that’s why ur not getting much support at this site… do your research
