I don’t mind sprites, as long as they’re done well. There’s a certain calibur that I expect from sprite based fighters in this day and age, which KOF 13 reached. I don’t think that they really have to convert to 3d models, but if they don’t, it won’t hurt me, so long as the gameplay is sound.

I read on Twitter he actually works for SNKP (surprising that the got to compete then), which makes it a bit puzzling that nothing was officially displayed, I think a lot of us would have been fine with something as simple as a logo or character silhouette, as long as it felt official and gave solid hints of news to come.
Let me just say that he most likely isn’t. More than a few folks within the community actually do know what’s coming up next. We just don’t say anything due to NDAs or simply as a matter of trust.

I kinda doubted you at first but i watched the dreamcancel podcast post-EVO episode and they mentioned that they were trying to get WOO to talk about KOF 14, and instead of Woo just denying it and saying there weren’t any plans, he just laughed so hard and just said no comment/i can;t mention anything or i’ll get into trouble…

But 2014 is KOF’s 20th anniversary, it would be bizarre if they released a game next year.

Right now, garou, orochi saga and ash saga have almost the same numbers in the cast. But it’s eminent that probably only elizabeth, duo lon and shen have a chance to stay from ash saga.
Even if we organize it as teams, it don’t change too much
2 exclusively garou teams (main + kim)
1 exclusively aof
1 womans team (with garou and aof chars)
1 ikari warriors
1 psycho soldiers
1 nest saga
1 ash saga
2 orochi saga teams (kyo + iori).
And then, the single entries…1 from garou, 1 from aof, 1 from orochi saga, 1 from nest and 2 from ash saga.
In a possible new kof game, i can imagine 2 directions
-a history continuity, with the introduction of new characters to take the place of ash saga chars .
-or go for a dream match, what means the return of characters from older sagas.
But in any situation, it’s unlikely for garou or orochi saga to not have a heavy presence in the cast
