I think the Drive system was actually a great thing to see. EX moves were a fine addition too.
Other than Adelheid, I don’t care for the rest of the characters left from the Ash saga. Shion, The Buriki One and Kizuna Encounter guys were cool and everything, but they’re too obscure and too elaborate to include them again.
I would prefer a mixed roster, including the classic USA team, and also some new/never playable characters, probably like Ron’s gang or the rest of the Orochi Heralds “(Those from the Past”).
I’m sure they’re also going to include some “old, forgotten” SNK characters like Jubei Yamada or perhaps some guest guys from Fighter History, World Heroes or King of Combat.
I’m really not interested in an Ash Saga dream match. Malin? Hinako? Who would prefer them over anyone else?!
Yeah. Just a decent-sized roster, a bit more characters than XIII without going overboard.
Hinako and Momoko may stay in the garbage can, but Malin, I do want to see her back. And who doesn’t want to have Elisabeth, Shen and Oswald? And the MOTW Team in XI?
I can do without the Kizuna and Buriki One characters though.
Hinako. Sounds like you guys haven’t played 02um Hinako. I need Hinako. Also 03 Malin. Choi drill dives that could be done either in the ground or in the air and don’t need charge.
Also y’all niggas have to see my Momoko/Gato/Oswald team in XI. Don’t hate on Momoko.
Agent Team: Vanessa, Ramon, Blue Mary - Because what’s a good KOF without Mary!!
Adelheid
Three obscure characters not appearing before in any KOF (probably Jubei, Lee Pai Long, Hon-Fu, Franco Bash, Laurence Blood, Jin Fu-Ha, Chen Singzan, Rody Birts, etc.)
Three previously unplayable characters (either from Ron’s gang or probably some of the Heralds)
I’d be alright
PS Grant, Silber or Kain would be awesome as well O.O
I’d like alot of characters to return, but the only one I need is Momoko. She was very fun to play as and was really cute, hope she returns.
I hope some of the characters are from the Maximum Impact games, I loved Chae Lim and Hyena. I wonder if SNK will remember the EX characters too, always wanted to play as Moe Habana, she looked fun and interesting.
I agree, though you might as well just leave XII out of it, since it wasn’t a continuation of the Ash Saga behind it & that all of the characters from that game appeared in KOF XIII.
SNK themselves showed off Malin, Momoko, Oswald and Chang in KOFXIII style a long time ago, so I think they are shoe ins for the new game. With them bringing Chang back, that means they’ll probably either bring Choi or Jhun back for a classic Korea team. Hwa and Raiden will probably team with Billy for a classic Fatal Fury villain team. (They even hinted as much in their in-game dialogue. Hwa win quote vs Raiden: “Hey, Raiden…How about the two of us join up with Billy next time?”)
As for them ‘going back to scratch’ on account of 3D - KOFXIII itself used 3D models as bases for their characters, they simply pixelarted on top of the models to create the sprites. So, if they really are going full 3D, it would be foolish to start from scratch when they were already using 3D models for the KOFXIII cast.
Source? I heard both were earlier spotted on steam database but were removed. Anyways I would be super excited if this is true, everyone talks about 98UM being the greatest KOF ever, with 2002 UM not far behind.
I don’t think anyone says 98UM is the best KoF. 98 Krauser Edition is arguably a step down from plain old Vanilla. The standard is Vanilla with a possible replacement being FE, but most countries don’t have access to FE to make it a standard.
I personally treat 98um and 98og as separate games and 98umfe being the update to 98um. I play 98og if I want to play Kyo and do cr.B cl.C stuff, reversal command throw with Iori, and play Chizuru. I play 98um if I want to have a better Terry, Lucky Glauber, and access to Mr.Big.
But the general idea is 98og is the best KOF game or if the most solid one and emphasizes fundamentals the best.
