You don’t like the animations? I like the models, animations and the vfx. That’s what hurts me the most. They look so ready to be in a fighting game.
I bet everyone at SNK feels so bummed out, you know they’re dying to make a new SamSho/Garou/KOF/etc and they just don’t have the resources for it. If these cock tease pachislot games are what can fund a new REAL game, then I guess it’s a necessary evil.
Art direction looks dull and character mannerisms lack personality; far cry from resembling their Neo-Geo counterparts. At least the backgrounds look good.
I wish they had more confidence in the Samurai Shodown IP; making that first would be less strenuous than making a new KoF for obvious reasons. In fairness though, I have little confidence in Playmore to do SamSho right.
At least it’s practice for what I hope would be a better looking game.
Don’t get me wrong, graphics aren’t quite the most important thing in a fighter. But we are talking about the same SNK (or in this case, the less competent successor SNK) that produced artistic gems back in the 90s.
You really think they’re not permanently switching over to gambling machines as soon as they realize that that shit is hella cheap to make and makes them more money than their niche fighting game?

Yeah, if that’s where the money is and there’s no one left in SNK-P that worked on the actual fighting games, then I say we should pour some (cheap) wine for the SNK fighting franchises. RIP in pieces.
SNKP has been whoring their IPs to pachinko and z-tier Asian devs for a while now. SNKP only exists as an IP farm now.
This. Series like Samurai Spirits (Samurai Shodown) & Garou Densetsu (Fatal Fury) are too niche & won’t make SNKP a lot of money. And unless someone like Sony steps in & gives SNKP money to fund another game like they’re doing right now with the Final Fantasy VII remake, Street Fighter V, & Shenmue III, we most likely won’t ever see another brand new fighter from them.
Hell, we’ll be lucky to receive a brand new KOF game than another game from certain fighting game series like those two.
I firmly believe SNK Playmore will end up being bought by a big Chinese company.
