Well i think the game should be in 2D, and be a Garou dream match with every character in the series based on the mark of the wolves fighting engine with 3D/cel shading character models…kinda like RF2.

His sons are in Garou, supposedly Freeman “killed” Kim.

Kim is in one of Dong Hwan’s winposes, and I think he’s in the brothers’ stage too.

Yeah I know, just going by what SNK originally said for the Garou storyline.

SNK never said Kim was dead.

That was a false assumption by many American players when they read Jae’s winpose Vs. Freeman.

The story circulated that Kim was killed by Freeman or otherwise challenge and lost very badly to him…in truth, Kim has never even MET Freeman.

Well, Jae’s winning comment in arcade mode against Freeman says that he “avenged his father.” But I always thought it was just poor translation…

In SNK’s universe nobody is really dead its kind of like DC.

Geese checks in and out on a daily game Basis.

“Hmm this year dead, next year alive, next year WHAT dead for 6 years, completely dead in game series A, back in dream match in series B alive and well, ok im happy with that”

I still say that Geese is still fine. Hell, he shows up in 2k3 and tells Gato to go with Billy and Yamazaki. He probably lived after getting knocked off his tower. Again.

It’s a good idea on paper, but with a high potential of being fucked up by lazy programming.

I don’t need to tell anyone here how different real 2D and “pseudo-2D” 3D games feel.

Well, the gameplay of Viewtiful Joe is very solid. I don’t have the evidence to support it, but to me it feels like it is a game with polygons but 2D-like hitboxes. Some of the items are not even polygonal (bombs, explosions, V-reels, etc).

Okay guys about Geese, you guys forget something…KOF storyline is unrelated to Garou/others…

That means The fact that Geese died in RBFF means he is dead, but as my thing above my name says “Geese NEVER DIES”…

In other words if we were to do an updated version/Garou 2 the Geese in the game would have to be Nightmare Geese.

So yes the fact that Geese is in XI has NOTHING to do with the storyline of Garou.

Uhh…I’d have to say that AoF, FF, KoF and Garou all have a connected storyline, even though there are some iffy points, but stuff like Rock popping in during Terry’s win poses, the established Todo hatred for Ryo and Takuma, and other things make me think that all the SNK games are all directly connected (poorly). But I just think that Geese never dies. Ever.

Well I hear yah man but SNKP has stated that some of these games take place in different time zones and this has been discussed before…me and Dash No Chris practically put up a good argument about why the storyline of KOF doesnt match up with the others…though it seems like it…it takes place totally separate from the other ones…now of course early on Art of Fighting and FF directly correlated, see AOF2 when it spoiler coming says when you beat Young Geese about how he is going to kill Jeff Bogard to take over Southtown…then after AOF2 the story for Fatal Fury begins…so direct correlation.

And Garou IS Fatal Fury, just the Japanese name so that has to relate…
But think about this-How do you explain the Garou characters in KOF if the stories are interchangable? How can some characters like Terry age but others like Iori,Kensou, Mai don’t???

Seth pretty much nailed it on the head though, this lil game that SCEA likes to play is not new, they did it at the end of PSX/dawn of PS2 generation too. And it’s still as shameful as it is before…more than likely the games will probably have to be “budget-priced” on top of being compilations, and with the fact that they’ll be shoveled out at a time when the majority probably won’t care, they’re still, in essence screwing the likes of SNK and etc. over. And I could probably safely go to the bank with the notion that Twinkle Star Sprites still won’t come over here…bastards. :arazz: :arazz:

Any way, the news of a new MOTW is INDEED good to hear. Perhaps this is the new thing that they’re starting for the Sega Aurora board? I look forward to it, especially if SNK actually is able to do something like the high sprite animation count that MOTW had, but with the sprite quality and size that is reminscent of Arc System’s games.

So…with that, what’s everyone’s lil personal wishlist for this game?

My top picks (in no real particular order):

Mr. Karate-Ryo as a super secret character (preferably an insane hidden boss). Since we’re finally going back to a SNK game that takes place within the “Tales of SouthTown” continuity, I believe it’s high time that we see Ryo Sakazaki rise up to his position of being SNK’s top “pure martial artist” bad-ass. Plus, I think it would be cool to see what interesting things could result when either Terry or Marco(Butt) encounter him…

Bring back more Fatal Fury characters! Like with the SF3 series, the main qualm that I have seen about this series is that dumped like 95% of the original cast, and replaced it with a bunch of newbies. While I definitely like MOTW’s newbies much moreso than SF3’s, I still would have liked for some characters like Billy, Yamazaki, Bob Wilson/Richard Meyer, Duck King and maybe even the Jin Twins to return. Hell, go even farther, and throw in some dudes (or their follow-ups/descendents) from Art of Fighting too, if possible. You’d think that at least some one like Yuri and Robert, Eiji, and Kasumi Todoh, would have had kids, students, or otherwise mentorees that could be following in their foot-steps by now…

Allow characters to age some more! Again, since this is not KOF, the characters should be allowed to get older, at least some what. Case in point: I’m sick of Rock being a teenager. Let him grow up to be a mid-twenties dude with a more or less full understanding of his powers, and dumping his some what inferiority complex would be a plus, in my eyes. On the other hand, we don’t necessarily need Terry to become a crochety old man like MGS4 Solid Snake either, do we?

Add in more things to make it seem more like a “new” Fatal Fury game. What I mean is, while MOTW was a good game, it still lacked some of the “personality” that the older games had, and I’m not merely talking about the missing characters I would like to see, either! For instance, in the old games (like say Real Bout), they seem to just allow the devs to have fun by throwing in a lot of different extra animations (Billy rocking out on his guitar before fighting you was great), and they allowed the series to never take itself TOO, too seriously with funny dialogue and such. I, for one, miss those types of touches that the “old” SNK bestowed in their games, and hope they re-insate them with this new one.

But perhaps the biggest thing I could ask for in this light…would be to restore “line changing”. It just doesn’t seem like a real Fatal Fury game without being able to take advantage of the two lines of combat, and working them into your fight strategy. Keep Just Defending, T.O.P. and other such things, for all I care, but I would like to see the return of the Line Change, and all the of interesting mechanics that could be attached with it.

…That’s my picks…how bout you guys?

*DA GAME agrees with you,but you forgot about Freeman.Will the Kaphwan boys finally encounter the man that almost killed Kim.That was the twist in the 1st MOTW in Freeman’s ending.Did he die after he got shot or what?

Also why does DA GAME get the feeling that Geese is still alive?*
