What does wolvorine do that makes him so dangerous at the start of the round?
Also the recovery after a df m otg seem so long that my Torn. Claw doesn’t come out. Using akuma assist can you guys help me with this?

several things make him dangerous at the start, namely his divekick/throw option select. he also has an instant overhead, made even scarier with tatsu assist.
you have to use an assist to connect your dp after otg slide. that or xfactor cancel.
I can’t seem to get this down. So after I do the j.L (then I delay to catch them mashing S), Reset Here, OS throw/J.H . . .
I recorded this in training mode and tested it. The opponent always techs out of the way for the OS throw/J.H to connect, even if they are mashing S + direction.
I’m obviously doing something wrong. I can’t find a video tutorial on You Tube. Any help would be appreciated.

make sure to delay j.L after launch. are you doing cr.H(instead of st.H) after the ground bounce? after the ground bounce, you can also do immediate st.HS, and then j.M instead of j.L. which direction(s) + S have you tested?

Snip
The opponent tech’ed too far away in all directions for me to connect with the j.H/OS throw.
I have experimented with other variations that go from the air series directly to the drill claw. Some work on certain characters, but are timing specific (delay or not) to let the animation of their j.S to come out. I’m obviously not doing this right because it looks much more consistent than when I remember seeing it on stream (which if I could find the footage I would slow mo it and figure out what they are doing).
I’ll keep trying to replicate the method you are talking about. I must be doing the j.L at the wrong time.
yeah, you’re definitely doing something wrong then. keep in mind that these work better in the corner. justin wong does a variation of it at around the 3:05 mark.

Thanks for the help. I’ve become much more consistent.
berserker slash xx charge bnb question: what kind of damage are you guys getting, without spending another bar?
I haven’t checked the damage in a while, but mine is somewhere around 611k

i’m assuming that’s without assists. i get 653,000 without assists, and it works on every character; i have a few others that do more damage but won’t work on whole cast. with assists, i get around 730,000. i feel it’s pretty important to optimize his charge combos, since you’re building meter for the opponent and none for yourself. justin wong, for example, has awful charge combos that do less damage and build more meter for the opponent than even the standard slash/charge loop. another important thing you want your charge bnb to accomplish, is making sure it puts your opponent into the corner–everything is easier in the corner.
Mine is around 611k as well >_< I don’t grind out combos all that much. Once I find something that is practical and strong I usually just go with that till I feel like I need to switch things up. You have me intrigued with your bcharge combo =P. What are you doing exactly?

i’m assuming you want his solo one, since i know you don’t use sent.
solo bcharge combo (656,700): slash xx charge, st.H xx M or H slash (depends on opponent’s character), dash cr.M st.H xx L slash, st.H xx M slash, dash st.MS ^ j.H xx drill claw~divekick, st.HS ^ j.MMLHS, otg slide. (notes: a couple adjustments needed against certain characters.)
Ahhh ok. I figured the only way to fit that damage was to get 3 slash loops and use the ground bounce into a full relaunch. Never could figure out how to get the HSD to work that way. Thanks man!
I’m gonna get a capture card pretty soon and hopefully upload some tutorial vids on some wolverine tech. Keep on the lookout!
finally! been waiting for you to make one for quite some time now.
Rog recently posted this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_mMR_3UIzY&feature=youtu.be
which reminded me of a vid I saw a while back
Which begs the question, how many characters can do this raw tag?? So far that’s hawk eye and Shuma. gonna test it throughout the case and update.
Holy shit you can combo off an assist ( Doom beam, cart, tatsu, HAM SESSION) AND STILL RAW TAG SHUMA
so far dante and Sent hit the raw tag, but their buttons appear too slow to follow. Spencer can follow with an Armor piercer, St L, and Cr M. I have terrible execution, does anyone want to see if they can go to zip loops from the cr M? Still testing. Wesker can hit a cr l, Ryu St l, Storm Cl,…no follows so far. Haggar st l forces an air reset…
Also doesn’t seem to be work on Zero. OF COURSE IT DOESNT
edit… wesker can hit Zero.Shuma can’t
Awesome can do this off a throw!
disclaimer I’m doing a very basic shuma combo after, literally cm launcher mhs. I’m sure it can be extended as rog showed, I’m just trying to see what situations allow for that

you should ask yourself which characters you would even want to do this with in the first place. raw tagging into hawk eye doesn’t make much sense, unless you’re trying to find a safe way of getting a battered logan out to heal, or if it’s off a throw–hell, i’m not even sure if raw tagging into hawk eye from a throw is even worth it, given his low damage output. the shuma video, however, makes sense, since he’ll do more damage than wolvie.
anyway, sumbrwnkid will be coming out with some wolvie tech vids this month. it’ll give the wolvie section something new to talk about again, because it’s been pretty dead in here lately.

Excellent, I’d like to steal some Wolvie/Dante tech.
I’ve started playing Angelic’s team (Wloverine/Dormammu/Shuma) and its alot of fun. I already had a decent Dormammu but kind of new to Wolv and need combo help.
I can’t do the double dp BNB half of the time. Which version of dp do you use? I have the most luck with medium dragon punch (after dark hole assist) into the first super, and then a light dragon punch for the second super but I’m clearly doing something wrong. Do you super cancel the first hit or let it ride out?
For the berserker charge combo slash loop, what method of dashing do you use after the slashes? I can’t seem to do it manually with directions and get here in time. Dashing with A+C into cr.B works but feels really unnatural.
Thanks

Doing the Fatal Claw loop out of Dark Hole is quite finnicky. You have to time it just right, too early and the Dark Hole hits again while you do the DP and they end up too low, and after a combo you don’t get much time to get the DP after the last hit of Dark Hole.
It’s been a while since I’ve done loop myself, but iirc it was M.DP xx Fatal Claw, L.DP Fatal Claw (either that or the other way around). But you it’s possible however you want to do, just easier if you do it that way (again iirc).
Let all of the hits come out for the DP before cancelling it, but cancel it asap after the last hit.
I never use it anyway, doing OTG into Dark Hole, then Berserker Barrage H into Fatal Claw DHC Chaotic Flame, st.M does pretty much the same damage and lets you DHC into Stalking Flare if they’ve only got a little bit of life left allowing you to stock one charge, lay a carpet and tag Wolverine back in for the welcome mixup.
For B.Charge combos I press B+C into cr.B, st.H xx Slash L. The timing is pretty relaxed, especially after the first Slash into B.Charge, you can dash a lot earlier than you think.
What’s the best b.charge combo?
