What’s absolutely hilarious is people keep acting like I’m defending this woman when my posts in this thread have been more a criticism of the actions of judge and jury and how to address the bias that leads to injustice like this case.

Everyone who is sane and reasonable has said from the start that this woman needs to be jailed. We all acknowledged the bias that favours woman but our bottom line is quite simply that criminals need to pay for their crimes.

The main source of this gender debacle is due to society confusing “sameness” with “fairness”. Men and women cannot be treated exactly the same in every respect, because apart from general biological protocols, we’re fundamentally designed differently and our motivations aren’t identical.
The hard truth is that society, in its effort for political correctness has made grand attempts to disprove these inherent differences in order to achieve what they believe to be equality, which is just as asinine as subjugating one gender over another.
There’s a reason why most women stray away from violent sports like football, and it doesn’t have to do with a “patriarchy” trying to impose their manly will. Most women just aren’t interested in brutish sports, unless it’s as a spectator. (Ironically, even women don’t enjoy watching the WNBA either.)
Also why a disproportionate amount of strip clubs are catered towards who men gullibly willingly dole out their cash to women who are enticing them sexually; and interestingly enough were creating pornography on cave walls and fertility goddesses with bulbous breasts and buttocks. Men have more testosterone, which drives our desire to mate to the point where we’ve created sanctuaries for sexual recourse.
Or why women tend to prefer social occupations like retail and nursing, or why men overwhelming represent the engineering field even though many engineer scholarships programs are practically begging women to join… or why women tend to get sexually aroused when exposed to male sweat after they engage in strenuous activity, or why men tend to simmer down because of pheromones released by a crying woman’s tears, yada yada yada…
Humans didn’t create cultures that gave men or women their respective natures, but rather our basic tendencies steadily diverged into expected roles- which cultures embellished upon and made them practically codes of conduct.
So what’s the other real issue? A lack of respect. Belittling another gender’s preferences, limitations and capabilities, or forcibly assigning men or women to roles that they wish to not follow in a “free” society. In the same vein, the physical or mental consequences of crossing certain barriers shouldn’t be glossed over, especially in institutions that have to uphold logical standards for objective success (i.e., the military, construction, boxing etc.)
The courts are sympathetic to (primarily white) females because subconsciously men (and empathetic women) have a natural bias towards women, even though the laws seem ironclad. Women’s rights groups will never approach these disparate factors, because they’re either emotionally ignorant to the plight of men, or hypocritically view the inequality as rightful penance for male oppression. If men and women in our current society are going to reach any true understanding, we can’t be ignorant of what makes us tick, or trade one power dynamic for another.
In a nutshell:
White shadow: I think we can all agree that only a fool and the most ideologically dogmatic fanatic would deny the differences between men and women. However even with all of that said and noted…there is no excuse to justify why female rapist should face lighter sentencing or any number of apologetics to explain why women shouldn’t face the consequences of their actions.
We have seen a lot of people post excuses and reasons why women shouldn’t be jailed in similar threads before…and no matter how many times people try to tell me"societal issues are the reasons"I’m not going to overlook the fact that a child molester and rapist got away with a crime.

I feel bad for the 8 year old being raped by this woman and she will never receive the punishment she deserves.
IMO: The system needs to change to a case by case basis for everyone no matter what it is.
I’m not justifying it, I find the double standard just as appalling and unethical. All I’m saying is that the propensity towards lighter sentencing for women is probably due to an archaic natural bias. It’s dumb, but it’s there, and when you combine wealth and racial bias into the mix, it makes the justice system into a complete joke.

if all that is true, which the jury thought so, hence the settlement, then it sounds like she was getting shit on and harrassed by a couple douche bags, and now the city had to pay the cost for these guys not just simply taking the poster down, properly apologizing for their misconduct, and never doing anything stupid again.
