lol. This shit reminds me of how niggas was saying Trish countered Dante cuz of marn vs wong even when Dante’s potential is nowhere near tapped.

I seriously think this dude is in the running for number 1. People are all up combos, but what I can’t wait to test is wake/tech traps with artemis and see how I can use it to back up my rush.

I CAME! I’ve been looking forward to combos off of Dante’s twosome (u+mash C) time since I saw it was in. Looks sexy.

That vid confirmed a few thoughts of mine. It’s really seeming like if you have a grasp of the system and moves, you can predict how things may turn out. That to me is a great system. This game is looking like my favorite 2D fighter more and more.

That was what I figured with the whiffing normals to build meter stuff gone, but I thought capcom would find a way to translate them into mvc 3. And I have no doubt dante would build a substantial amount of meter on his own, but my plan is to DHC him in in DT mode se he will be in an advantageous position if you get what I mean. But hey upon actually trying this out it may not even work very will so you never know.

Nothing wrong with experimenting, DT is one of the big, untapped pockets of potential we need to really dig into. The vid Kanoleon posted gave us a little taste of the possibilities, I definitely want to see more of DT’s power, both as assist and on point.

This would probably get me lynched but I did review Virgil’s moves from DMC3:SE and although I was initially excited by the prospect of Virgil’s MvC3 moves…

He would actually come off kind of boring.

His Summon Swords would be his most interesting tools and even that can be added to Nero. His katana’s reach would be cool but predictable, nothing we didn’t see from Soki. And Dark Slayer’s teleports would be counter productive to what I imagine would be Virgil’s MvC3 gameplan (medium range melee). That’s just my reasons for abandoning the concept, maybe you guys have better ideas for his moves.

Nero on the other hand would be fun as hell.

Wow, that was a very impressive 48 seconds, the first combo looked like it was taken straight out of dmc 3. God I can’t wait till we get our hands on this game to see what people really come up with. Plus DT looks very interesting, I am honestly surprised the game is 3 weeks away and we still know next to nothing of DT. I guess with 40 moves people had their hands full with regular dante, no time to delve into DT dante.

I always imagined Vergil playing essentially as Strider with Spiral’s sword shenanigans tacked on ( in lieu of Strider’s zoo )… probably with final judgement as a level 3.

Special Systems:

Exceed: :qcb:+:s: (hold) (Air-OK)

  • Charge the Red Queen in a sustained manner (must hold ‘revs’ for full charge) and save up to three stocks of buffed Red Queen attacks. Certain moves change in their Exceed versions. Moves with Exceed(Ex) versions will be explained.

Ex-Act: :s: during Red Queen attacks (specifically within hit frames)

  • Charges a stock instantly.

MAX-Act: :s: during exact frames of Red Queen hit

  • Although timing is strict, you can fully charge Red Queen for all three stocks. Well timed players can potentially maintain Exceed stocks the whole fight!

Devil Trigger Phantom

  • When DT hyper activates, a phantom appears behind Nero and ‘shadows’ his melee attacks similar to Zero and Yun/Yang’s techniques. The Phantom also alters Devil Bringer moves. Two extra moves are added during DTP. Exceed is disabled during DT. Moves with DTP versions will be explained.

Special Moves:

Blue Rose Shot: :f:+:l: (repeat input for more shots)

  • Though it doesn’t combo as well as Dante’s guns, it stuns long enough for certain follow-ups - namely Devil Bringer and Exceed-buffed Red Queen moves.

Blue Rose Anti-Air Shot: :b:+:l: (repeat for more shots)

  • Can juggle for up to three hits.

Blue Rose Air Shot: :d:+:l: (Air only, repeat input for shots, slows your descent)

  • Other than downward angle, same properties as ground shots. OTGs.

Blue Rose Charged Shot: Hold any BR shot (mobility allowed)

  • Charge BR into three levels of variant effects: 1) Strong shot that wall bounces (from ground) or ground bounces (from air), 2) burning effect that can damage assist characters on touch, 3) after a slight stun, opponent will explode and be left in juggle state (must consider risky recovery off lvl3).

Splitter: :b:+:m: (Air only, slight height restriction)

  • Dive down vertically with a powerful slash that will knock back enemies. Combine with BR shots to mix up your descent, slowed or hastened.

Double Down (Ex Splitter)

  • Stab down from the sky with burning impact that will send enemies flying. Higher damage and speed, no height restrictions. OTGs.

Streak: :qcb:+:m:

  • Close the gap with a rushing, sweeping slice.

Ex Streak

  • One or two stocks will add speed and damage to Streak. Three stocks will add more hits as Nero spins on contact. Hold B to delay attack (can Exceed during hold).

Calibur: :qcb:+:m: (Air only)

  • Slice through the air with a lateral attack.

Ex Calibur

  • A faster, stronger version using one Ex stock.

Shuffle: :hcf:+:m:

  • Nero takes a step back (completely invincible for a few frames) and back forward with a powerful counter-swipe that knocks enemies back.

Ex Shuffle

  • And number of stocks will add burning circular swipes to the counter-attack, with greater range and more hits.

Heavy Strikes: Mash :m:

  • Nero slams the Red Queen for a powerful series of attacks that delivers massive stun. All hits can be Exceed charged. Consider risky recovery.

Roulette Spin: :dp:+:m: (Air only)

  • Vertical spinning attack that can elevate your altitude and lightly launch your opponent. Can be canceled in Snatch or Buster.

Buster: :hcb:+:h: (Air-OK)

  • Special grab that slams enemies into a ground bounce. Nullifies certain projectiles. Can be blocked, however.

Snatch: :qcf:+:h: (Air-OK)

  • Special grab that will snatch enemies from any range and pull them to you for follow-up attacks. Used in air, will leave in elevated with opponent pulled up. Will home in on opponents no matter where they are. ‘Heavy’ characters (Hulk, MODOK, Tron, Haggar) will have Nero being pulled to them as they are stunned. You are in jump status during pull. OTGs.

Hell Bound: :f:+:l:+:s: (Air only)

  • The Devil Bringer grabs a blue orb across the screen and pulls Nero across in an enhanced mobility move.

Hyper Moves:

Red Queen Combo: :qcf:+:atk::atk:

  • A forward moving ground combo. Hits are Exceed-able.

Lvl3 Devil Arm Pounding: :hcb:+:atk::atk:

  • Special grab that can’t be blocked. A phantom arm appears and grabs the opponent, slamming them into the ground multiple times.

Devil Trigger: :dp:+:atk::atk:

  • Nero’s DT summons a phantom that will shadow his Red Queen attacks, adding hits. Also adds two moves and alters existing ones:

Summon Swords

  • Flying swords added to Blue Rose Shots. Charged BR Shots add spirit swords.

Maximum Bet: :b:+:m:+:h:

  • Combines Red Queen and Yamato for a swipe that sends a wide projectile across the screen. Can be charged.

Showdown: :f:+:m:+:h:

  • Nero and his phantom work together for a powerful combo that ends with a damaging strike. Warning: 2sec start-up.

Devil Buster

  • A stronger slam than the original, and capable of grabbing assist character along with enemy point character. Summon swords active during animation for added damage.

Devil Snatch

  • Capable of stuffing projectiles to grab and pull prey. Can also pull previously ‘heavy’ characters.

Red Queen Hyper Combo

  • Summon swords active for added damage.

Lvl3 Devil Arm Pounding

  • Animation changes to show phantom getting especially brutal.
