For any Dante/Wolvie players, in case you didn’t know you can squeeze in an additional acid rain after prop shredder with tornado claw assist, also works with a few other anti air assists but only in the corner because they push your opponent backwards. I prefer this because I see a lot of Dante players using their wall bounce after stinger to get some hight when they call their assist while throwing out acid rain, this way you can at least save your wall bounce if you are in the corner. Making this clip made me remember just how good Dante/Drones really is, might actually pick this team up again. First two combos aren’t that practical, the last two are a little more reasonable.

So someone has MORE than likely discovered this already. Dante can bold cancel his air moves right after he hit the ground. What are the applications of this? its too fast to cancel into specials, SUPER come out but no specials to my knowledge.

I do that a lot with j.S to bait them to whiff an attack and punish, maybe it can be used in a combo… don’t know, at least is something more we can bold cancel.

Bold cancel/dash cancel with jS is basically only to make it advantageous on block, I think. Nothing combos after a dash cancelled jS that doesn’t combo after a regular jS afaik…
Kinda disappointing. Actually, I had an idea for an infinite after hearing that you could dash cancel jS, which would’ve been
(some combo hits etc here) jS, [dash cancel, acid rain, volcano, jc jS] xN
but acid rain’s not fast enough to hit. Would also probably have been a slightly chance based infinite anyway, considering acid rain, volcano, jc jS will (very rarely) not work if acid rain decides to fall weirdly.

OMG… i have been searching for some crazy stuff and i think i maybe found it, i just some things to see how reliable and good it is, anyone knows how much frame advantage you get after a blocked hammer? and of reverb shock>fireworks? if i am right you can drain 500,000 life on block of a character with the right assists and no meter, maybe more…i really need a capture card.

Hammer’s around +10 I think, and Reverb xx Fireworks is +2

So the idea is: if you force the incoming opponent to block a acid rain you can jump mash H to do the shots call Rapid Slash(or whatever assist that is long or causes great blockstun) and come down with a hammer, do s.H>Stinger~Million Stab+ Call Dormammu( or whatever assists that is long or bla bla bla) BC jump and try to repeat this, if done correctly it this very difficult to advance guard because the assists don’t get affected, the opponent needs to use advancing guard in the s.H or it won’t work, because if he/she does AG when using million stab it will get again be trapped in blockstun because of dark hole(or some other assists), this is just the basic stuff, just tested it for like half hour, i will try to incorporate reverb shock;also x-factor and shoryuken crossover counters are the things i have found that can stop this, again it isn’t complete, is just the basic idea, oh and a lot of times if they mash advancing guard they will get hit and you get a combo off it, i don’t know if this is good or not, any help will really be appreciated.

Weasel Shot is like +14 on block or some shit, and you can vary the amount of shots to mess with advancing guard mashers

DT is great this sort of thing, but of course that costs 1 meter. Although it just occurred to me you can do a long enough combo with Dante that DT expires and you still build a bar. But to do that you’d have to hit them, at which point you’re no longer doing a chip setup, so frame traps would be even better…

So what are people using as welcome mixups. I’m running Dante/Vergil/Strider and while I have damage and resets up the ass I feel my welcome game is not as oppressive as if I was starting vergil. I usually run

Acid Rain teleport mixups
Acid Rain to weasel shot call assist teleport
Dash under
Call Rapid Slash teleport airdash other way

These are all dependent on my assist though and I know you dante heads might have dirtier shit. Help me out!

Yeah Weasel shot is useful also, i will try a chip setup with weasel shot, hammer and reverb shock; it is not like you will always kill a character in a chip setup, but i like to do it so i can kill with just one bar, i thought of devil trigger too, you can add like 300,000 more chip damage at less but as you say is better to do a frame trap after chipping like 200k, and if you use a chip setup using reverb shock>fireworks the amount of chip is insane, that move does like 50k on block and leaves you at + , also is great for messing with the mind of the other player, because he will become irritate a lot of the times and the frame traps will be a lot easier to do.

Acid rain to force block>Dash under+Call Assist>j.H or instead of j.H you can back dash to cross over and do j.H, i use a projectile assist to do this but rapid slash should work in theory, maybe even vajra, acid rain teleport mixups are always great; i prefer to go for a chip setup, it is easy, puts the opponent in the range so i can kill with one bar, and also at a frame advantage to do frame traps, you can also try to charge the quartle circle forward +L (i can’t believe i forgot the name of the move) like a pseudo-projectile assist realease it and do a teleport, although it can be easily countered if they grab you, but usually it gets the job done.

I started running Dante/Mag/Phoenix since infinites came out. The only one I can do is Dante so far cause thats all I practiced. Mag got his anywhere infinites so once I learn them Dante is burning all the bar. Anyone else do dante tac goodness? I drop them near the last sliver of life and double jump out of anxiety lol

How about welcome mixups for after Million Dollar or a snapback? (i.e. no time for Acid Rain)

Currently I’ve been trying out: Call Strider asap then either dash under/fake dash under then teleport or no teleport. I usually press a button as I dash under too. Strider is there to protect me, make it impossible to air dash away without getting killed, and obviously for a potential teleport cross up.

Without an assist, dash under 5H is good, but will probably get blown up by pressing buttons (Helm Breaker/Splitter/Foodai/insert divekick here) and characters with air mobility can avoid it for free.

Jam Session can cross under as well and will blow up all of that stuff, but that either requires meter or Vajra to combo off of. (And if you plan on spending meter on Devil Trigger, you might as well Acid Rain > Devil Trigger anyway)

Does anyone know if Call Vajra > Jam Session is still safe in the corner? Assuming they don’t properly pushblock the second to last hit, they would get pushed back at midscreen and Vajra would whiff anyway, but does Vajra connecting make it actually safe for Dante to continue pressure? I’ll test it tomorrow after I go sleep…

Anyone has tried the TAC infinite? looks sweet.

These were some pretty solid matches, at 9:10 we had to make a new lobby because Crapcom’s shitty netcode kicked us both out right in the middle of a match, sometimes I wonder why I bother to continue to play this game online…

I’ve just been mashing wavedash into 5m + strider. Works really well, they can’t outthink me if I don’t know where I’m going to wind up.

Stinger with a late plinked BC into Reverb, Crystal, or Drive makes for great frame traps. This is all granted your Stinger is not pushblocked. So using assists will make this more effective.

A late BC plinked Reverb requires the most precise timing of the 3, but it will stuff the shit out of any button.
Crystal is a bit more telegraphed, but unless they’re familiar with stinger blockstun they may try to swing and get ice to the face. Advantage is great enough to link a combo, or get another mixup if you’re blocked.
Drive is great because you will actually trade if they’re mashing cr.L (tested against Magneto) and then still be able to convert because the projectile still comes out.

That dragging property rapid slash has on a character behaves very strangely when combined with teleports. Adding airdashes makes it even more visually confusing. May not even be necessary as you can literally just fall with a j.H after the trick and not know which side you will consistently land on.

I don’t know if they retain crouching blockstun animation until they block an overhead or just the next move with stand block. If it’s the former then just falling with a j.H is dumb ambiguous. I’ll test stuff in the morning though.

After Bold Canceling Stinger hoe much frame advantage do you get?

Also if you use this with hawkeye’s arrow assist and land a clean hit with stinger you can BC into Hammer/j.S to do a hammer combo that does like 780k damage without loops , stinger is still pretty godlike.

EDIT: maybe this is like day 1 trick or whatever, but just in case, after doing s.S>gun shots, you could do a 50/50 reset with projectile assists, rapid slah or dark hole, when they are falling just jump+ call assist and then do a back or forward dash into j.h so they need to guess, or just do an empty jump is you just want to fake it, in devil trigger this is just incredible difficult to block because of 2 air dashes and then j.h>cr.l>fly j.m or something like that, i don’t see a lot of people doing this so i just posted it just in case.

Does anyone have any setups with unibeam (or the comparable plasma beam) assist that’s more layered and less telegraphed then raw assist call+raw teleport

Well you can use stinger+Assist then the teleport dash j.h for a cross up and cr.L , yeah i know is the basic stuff but it gets the job done, also you can try to go for a Hammer instead of a teleport for frame advantage, i am not use to crystal but i think it is +8 on block so you can also use it for frame traps, i like to do also chip setups with beams and long assists and after them you are at a frame advantage, i think it is the same stuff you can do with magneto’s beam assist, but unibeam scales too much, so you can play a more zoning game with acid rain , drive and hysteric.
