They flip out after the j.H and before they hit the ground. After trying it some more, I wonder if it’s because s.H has a huge ass hitbox, whereas Cold Shower shoots at the ground. It’s one of those “I swear the move looks like it’s hitting, but it isn’t” situations. Ah well, even if it worked they’d probably just pop out of Prop Shredder, lol.

I was testing back when the game first came out and I got his jH Air Play IAD jH MH Cold Shower to work midscreen but havent been able to do it yet bc of how strict the timing is so if you could connect Cold Shower, I doubt they would pop out. Any reason why you’re doing jH into Cold Shower?

Also, other ways I would try are:
-jMH Air Play jH Cold Shower (Weird timing but this works with “land HS Up Shots blahblahblah” so maybe it’ll let Cold Shower connect instead?)
-connecting a H before the Cold Shower

Like I said, not really sure why you’re tryna do a raw CS after (probably bc you’re my impractical Dante bro;)) so IDK what you’re trying to achieve (Style, hidden tech, etc)

I was trying to build 2 bars off of it, figured Prop Shredder and Acid Rain would do the trick. Found another way to get the meter though. I love Dante, lol

You should be spending meter only on Devil Trigger in level 3 Xfactor due to him not needing to waste meter on supers and Devil Trigger making him stupid good at everything, and without XF3you should be spending as much as you can to get the kill (million dollars/level 3). For neutral, spam out projectiles like a nut and follow up by dashing and well covered teleports and use Devil Trigger to do anything you want.

Check out Nini’s guide for XFactor Dante and what is he capable of. For level 3 combos I use the day 1 ultimate bnb (off any confirm into volcano), but add jH jS off the first volcano. Off Air throws you want to buffer Volcano or twister before landing and do them ASAP off landing.

So any confirm into Volcano in XF3:
jH JS, Volcano, jH Killer Bee, S~H~S, sj Hammer, Volcano xx Beehive does 1 million minimum off any confirm and does it very quickly(1/5-1/4th of the XF3 bar), if you need more damage go for cold shower into stinger and further extension to ToD the heavies. There is no reason to end anything in million dollars in XF3, and infinites are more meter efficient. Prop Shredder might whiff off situations with more hitstun scaling involved, so you might want to omit jH jS or go for another combo.

Cool what about as far as blocking him I have the hardest time with that

chicken block while drones/assist is on screen, watch for crossup magnetic blasts, crossunder jabs, airthrows (dont pushblock especially if he has drones) and fuzzy guards (which is why i recommend chicken blocking). as soon as the assist is gone, pushblock something and establish some space with your sword normals. dont superjump back because magneto will fierce that shit

Cool should I chicken block by neutral jumping or should I jump back cuz sometimes I catch myself having to fight my way out of the corner a lot :\

Been away from this game for half a year and the tier lists have shifted quite a bit. My question is does Dante have any match ups that aren’t even or in his favor now? I ask because hes dropped a bit in tiers.

Lets say I play a Spencer who like to jump and do horizontal zip, most of the time with assist cover, but sometimes he forget him (or Frank is too short to reach).
What is the best method to punish that? I can jump throw it, but it is not such a good punish to scare him off that.

The same about when his is in my face (let say just out of sword reach) and jump j.C (or is it j.S, can’t recognize his normals), I’ve tried using s.B, but it seemed like a wheel of fortune who hits.
I kinda hate it how people can swing things against me, and if i press button I die (it was the same when he played Dante and just swing that sword and hit me)
I’m not that bad, but I feel like I need to be much more calculated with my button press, and for some reason can’t punish effectively some of the nonsense occurring on the screen. I mean he shouldn’t just bare normal jump in front of me with no assist with no way for me to react now, should he?

anyone have tips against fighting wolverine or just rush down in general, when im playing dante im trying to make space for his normals but its hard against wolverine

One thing that I do is a well timed million carats. Depending on the assist that they use with it, you will have time to stop the assist and hit Spencer. When they try to zip without an assist you can use a well timed million carats, a well timed normal (s.M, s.L, or s.S if you wanna take the risk), or an air throw. Other people may have some more options for you.

A well timed crystal will help against rushdown. You just have to use your normals and specials (hammer, crystal, air play) at the right time. Dante with good spacing will shut down rushdown most of the time.

it seems like you people just IGNORE that twister, crystal and million carats exist. they can make so many matchups easier… dante’s neutral game isn’t just comprised of air play, you know

When defending against rush down at full screen I generally just use hysteric and air play, throw in some acid rain if they are trying to come in from above, also there is DT then go into flight and thunderbolt, I have doom missiles assist so I call that while doing one or the other, when up and close just block, counter and punish with tools like reverb shock, crystal and twister, and remember to push block the right things or you could fuck yourself over with the added block stun.

Make sure when the momentum is finally in your favour to keep it that way, try to end blocked combos with reverb shock and make yourself safe, or end with fireworks and if your opponent push blocks you’ll go back full screen resetting the neutral game, making them have to work to get close to you all over again.

Going for resets can be kinda iffy so only do so if necessary, just kill the opponent’s character if it’s that much of a threat.

Always keep a certain level of respect depending on the match up, and know when to go in for openings to turn the momentum in your favour, and as scrubby as chicken guarding looks sometimes it really can save your ass in a lot situations, just be prepared to tech a throw attempt when holding dat UP-BACK lol.

P.S: If your opponent is too stupid to push block reverb shock/fireworks in the corner, they’l easily leave themselves open for a mix up or reset because of the advantage on block, or if you know the opponent’s character has slow enough normals you could just be a cheap ass and throw out another reverb shock if they have a habit of pushing buttons.

Million Carats lets you hit confirm against rushdown heavy characters and Twister is great for resets in the corner. I still havent found a good way to deal with Wolvie plus Plasma Beam though
