In a nutshell, that’s basically how Capcom tried to market Vampire/Darkstalkers in the US back in the 90s. But nobody really cared, because most everybody else was too busy playing the latest Marvel and Alpha releases at that point in time. And that was back in the 90s, when Capcom was much more willing to “experiment” with these types of things. Should go without saying what kind of things stand in the way of a Vampire revival, at this point.

I kinda dig the art style.
The western cartoonish look feels fresh and unique from all the animuuuu we have been getting all this years.

It’s like going back to the days when Cartoon Network had good shows, only in a fighting game form.

I don’t like LOLI games, but I’m hyped for Skull Girls. I really hope this is a solid game that catches on.

How is this a “Loli” game? I think there’s only one character that looks like a child of the 8 main and she isn’t sexualized. The characters that are, are drawn with adult body features.

As for wheather or not this could break into mainstream, I think it has already shown potential of doing so. The game has had articles on many many major video game news sites, all giving very high praise (though what preview doesn’t) from Desctructoid and Kotaku to IGN. I haven’t seen an article on Indiegames yet for some reason though. . .

Superjail/sym-bionic titan/robotomy are pretty good but almost all of CN’s shows are shit.

Also, Sym-Bionic Titan has been cancelled.

seriously is allowing me to have the ps3 menu’s 512 song playlist on shuffle in the background that much to ask that people have to post “why don’t you use an xbox” when there’s several ps3 fighting games that manage to do it just for some reason not all of them

i don’t know what is required of the game to do this, as a programmer it just seems like someone forgot to flip a boolean in some file somewhere that says “yes allow this” and didnt want to write the code that mutes the music whenever ps3 menu music starts but at the same time maybe ps3’s system is insanely fucking retarded and makes it super difficult which if that’s the case i find it understandable but from where i’m sitting it really seems like it shouldn’t be too hard

I remember when these kinds of features were announced they assured developers that these features would not come with any additional effort on the programmers.

As far as music in games I remember a rumor from back in the day that the system for universally playing music of in game sound track was patented by Microsoft thus Sony’s method is optional and depends on the developers to enable to enable it.

I’m not sure how much truth there is to that though. Seems like a hard thing to hold a patent on.

the reason is simple, on xbox is inbuild console feature, in ps3 the developers have to program it from the ground
