All you really gotta remember is that people are more likely to drop $15 and under to try out a game than $60. This makes people want to buy games just to try them, at worst they’re out a couple of burgers, at best they become fans of the genre and look for more stuff to buy.
They’ve yet to do either, as far as PC is concerned.
i came here specifically to ask how you pronounce your username.
El Brujo Hue Hue Hue Hue
It means something like “The Wizard ha ha ha ha”
It really doesn’t matter how long you do your best impression of an angsty 14 year old on an internet forum. The port is almost finished by the virtue of it being a port. Since the patch is finished, and Autumn still seems to be backing Skullgirls, they now have their entire attention on getting a PC version out the door, which is much easier to ballpark a release for with things like a development team imploding out of the way.
Stop feeding the troll.
Better idea. Just put him on ignore.
He’s being obnoxious, but he isn’t doing anything inherently wrong. Having a dissenting opinion isn’t a crime.
That said, he’s somebody who is treading on thin water at the moment.
It’s also time for another educated guess: I expect we’ll hear definitive news about this within the next month.
My sights are currently just set on the Japanese market related news scheduled for December. However it might be a good time to drop in something like “But we haven’t forgotten our Western fans! The PC version is out next week!” </wishful thinking>
Just wanted to say, price point is very very important to success in the PC Market, as is getting eyes on your product. SF4 and SFxT have been 50% off for the entire duration of the Steam Autumn Sale (shame that Autumn Games couldn’t make the release for this ;P) and not one Capcom game broke the top 100 selling titles on Steam.
SF4 went up on a flash sale at 75% off (10$) and is as of writing this the #11 best selling game on Steam.
You have to remember that the Steam sale is very formulaic. It’s been the same process for a number of rotations now and almost everyone who shops there knows to avoid purchasing a game at its flat-sale price until the last day if necessary and wait until it shows up in a flash deal/daily deal.
You’re right about price-point mattering, but during the Steam sale one of the most important things is how many people are trying to game the system. That same mentality doesn’t apply to a new release coming in at a reasonable price, and going by the numbers it’s one of the biggest consumer motivators. Quite honestly, most indie games that release over $9.99 do not do incredibly well until their first Steam sale. Even a highly regarded game like Mark of the Ninja was a middling seller until it came up for 50% off. The exception to this would be Torchlight 2 for instance, but that had a mountain of hype built up over a couple years behind it.
What the hell happened in here?
Is it the person we talked about, or the one with the crazy name?
Mainly quoted because I started to feel guilty that I was looking at your avatar too much.
People who don’t know how to deal with assholes reacted wrongly, instead of either a) learning to deal, or b) putting them on their ignore list.
Both.
And that’s the point. Everyone loves my Christmas avatar. I get many requests every year to bring it… back.
Back on topic, I’m totally expecting a fan-made palette editor to release for this. I’ve also got $15 set aside to pay full price for the PC release.
Wai… wai… kurisumasu pantsu!
Also, I see what you did back there.
Damn, the money I am holding back to buy 2 4packs on steam is starting to burn a hole in my pocket- can’t wait for this to come out.
None of my friends are willing to buy xbox gold just to play FGs now and then so I haven’t played SG in 7 months or so, gonna be like a whole new release for me.
Release party erry day? No? Ok.
Any news when this game comes to PC?Interviews said this year but it doesnt seem like it.
Actually it was confirmed that it’s NOT this year a while ago but that’s it. We’re still in uncertainty on this matter =[
Ah… saw a new post in this thread. got my hopes up! : < Its ok though. The year has ended (other then technically). So I can start thinking about this game every day again lol
I’d buy it just to support PC fighters.
Buying Skullgirls won’t really be supporting PC fighters unfortunately. The developers have neglected to maintain any reliable discourse with the PC community, and are already talking about console DLC before the PC version has even managed to be released. Months after initial debut (probably a year eventually), and now that the franchise is mired in lackluster sales and almost complete FGC rejection, they want to try to get a PC port (maybe) out to bolster their sales and maybe make enough money to get back into the console game? You had may as well buy SFxT costume DLC, for all the support that is.
