Well, we heard that Mike and co. were working overtime just prior to release, trying to make sure everything was ready, and they took a break after they were done. Don’t know how long the break was, but it wasn’t long after release (within a month, I think) that the patch was starting to be worked on and this whole wait started. If the man responsible for the port wasn’t able to start the port before they got sidetracked (since he was working up until release finishing the netcode), he may not have started yet. He needs money, he can’t work for free on his own time; it’s possible that the company isn’t paying him to go forth on the PC port until the Patch is put through.
However, Chibi said it’s as easy as sending them an e-mail to get info. I’ve been kind of wanting to, but didn’t know what to ask about. Why don’t I go ask them about the PC port?
Ask them about the PC port when they release the console patch or at least when Mike says that the patch is finally for Microsoft/Sony approval test.
The main problem now is not the impatience, is if the people forget the game, 2 months ago all my friends were asking me about the game because they were hyped, but now they barely ask me and we are in the final months of the year when a lot of games will be released, its not the same release now or later than two months ago when the hype was very high
I believe there was talk of getting SkullGirls into japanese arcade but I can’t remember where that quote was. Hopefully, the amalgam that is shoryuken will fix this problem. And no, Google Auto Correct, I did just spell Shoryuken correctly.
Just feeling a little bit depressed by the whole ‘slowing down’ of the project… If I could, trust me that I would happily give them dat million, right now on their hands.
"I assure you that we feel your disappointment, too. Nothing on this project has ever been easy, and it’s not so much that it’s hard that it’s all slow and out of our control.
Despite these delays, Autumn is still committed to the game. So all I can really do at this point is urge continued patience.
Things should be clearer in a few weeks, I think."
End of October (maybe) eh’? The unfortunate reality is that patience cuts both ways. If I’ve already waited 6-7 months for it, I will probably just sit tight for a few extra weeks until it goes 75% off for the steam Christmas sale.
That isn’t a “threat”, but it is the reality of what happens when you delay ports for such a long time. And lest you think I am picking on Skullgirls, I only buy Capcom games for 75% off for the same reason: if they don’t mind making me wait three months, I don’t mind making THEM wait an extra two months and paying them less for it.
Christmas sales are not such a horrible thing. The game is probably going to be discounted at a lot of digital storefronts and it is going to be more than six months old by the time it hits the PC anyway. The Christmas sales are actually a golden opportunity for this game to catch a second wind thanks to 4 pack sales, discounts and game+OST combos.
Also, keep in mind that Capcom has the manpower to make it happen a lot faster. If they “make” you wait 3-6 months it’s because they want it that way. If Reverge “makes” you wait it’s because they have one dude chained to the desk working on this port while whiney internet people complain about the shiny new thing taking Skullgirls’ place. Have some patience, please. Oh, and stop making PC gamers look so whiny. We’re not that impatient.
That the game will be using Steamworks is official for what feels like half a year now.
October release date has been on Gamersgate for a month and I’m not calling that anything but a placeholder until RL confirms it (and even then I’m gonna be cautious ).
Do we even know whether those are legit PC version screenshot or just PS3/X360 caps?
the addition of October date in the game’s page was recent, less than a week ago. I hope it doesnt get postponed again. I wonder why it did not appear on Steams pre-order items. Some games do this 3 months prior to release, yet here we are unsure.
