Now we wait for mods.
Imagine for just one second that guys with money told them not to. What should they do then >_>
Where did all these retards suddenly pop out from who complain about ‘lack of communication’ from Reverge Labs of all companies?
They are probably strictly PC players. Who unlike me didn’t lurk these boards for year trying to muster all available pieces of info anticipating long-awaited PC realese. So we should not be rude to them and give SG community bad look, right?
I know seriously. Reverge has has the best communication of any company that I have ever seen during development. Now that there’s nothing to say since they don’t know/can’t say anything concrete about release dates people start spouting that nonsense.
Have some patience.
I think the complaining people need to realize that Reverge Labs is a SMALL group. If they spent a whole bunch of time communicating with people then thats less time they can spend fine tuning the game or working on some future stuff for the game which would make the wait even longer. I sure hope they will grow larger as a company and make a big name for themselves in the future so that they can add/do more to the game.
I’m a reasonable sort and I understand well the demands of a small team. The fact of the matter is this though- no matter how small the team and how hard you are working, you can always muster 30 seconds to communicate something. In the event corporate has hamstrung them so they CAN’T communicate, that is another issue entirely although no less discomforting.
I can appreciate people being fans of the game and wanting to defend it, but most of the posts above are completely irrational. Voicing displeasure at receiving no news in four months is not a “lack of respect.” It is a legitimate concern. If you feel they have communicated well in the past prior to the console release is all well and good, but the fact that they have had not communicated anything to the PC folks since May is a lack of communication no matter how you slice it. If you legitimately consider four months of silence to be the “best communication of any company”, I am both baffled and quite sorry for your consumer experience.
The ironic thing is the blind hate towards any criticism is the utter mischaracterization of intent. I like playing fighting games. I want Skullgirls to be successful. I want it to pave the way for even more fighters to make it to my platform of choice (and with cross platform play, thank you!) I am concerned because they are NOT handling things well. I spoke with a member of the Skullgirls team at EVO and he said to the best of his knowledge the “Summer” release date was still on track. Providing some news when an understood release window slips by is not an unreasonable expectation.
Being a fan of a company doesn’t mean turning a blind eye towards its shortcoming. My point was and is simply this- if you release a game long after the console version and do precious little to show the PC folks you care, you are not doing yourself any favors. Providing frequent updates on what is inside the upcoming console patch does absolutely nothing to excuse their failure to communicate regarding the PC port, no matter how much you might wish it does.
If the best response you can muster is “lol retard”, there is not really much conversation to be had here.
And once more for good measure- you can in fact take 30 seconds out of your day to communicate something. We aren’t asking for a full blown timeline with a power point presentation. The characterization that they are so busy can’t make a single twitter post in four months just doesn’t hold water.
inb4 Chibi just goes fucking nuts and turns the whole thread to glass.
I just hope it gets delayed till after exams.
For now I will no ask more because the console patch goes first but if after that they dont release information like at least system requeriments, I dont know what to thing, its impossible that they dont have interest in the PC port when its the only confirmed content that will give them money again.
Guys from Reverge are reasonable people. It’s impossible for them to not understand that lack of communication is a bad thing. If they doesn’t say anything it generally means there’s nothing to say yet. When there will be any concrete information, they will share it. There is not much they can do in terms of publishing and releasing and stuff. So they not giving any assumed dates because things can change any moment and those dates’ll become misleading. It sucks I know (I’m PC only player too) but the only thing we can do right now is waiting.
What would you guys want them to say if you want them to frequently communicate? “The only guy working on the PC port/online component just ate a bagel before getting to work.” Or do you just want them to keep telling you that the port still isnt finished? I know I am not in the video game industry but from the looks of it, indie developing goes through a lot of hassle to get the game out to people. Cut them some slack, I know for damn sure that they are trying their best to finish the port despite the lack of people.
Runic Games did it very well. Their game got delayed and delayed in a very similar fashion and many people wanted to know what the holdup was. How did Runic games respond? They told them, in detail, what they were accomplishing on a weekly basis.
This game looks cool but Im enjoying SFXT PC a lot and the new patch is coming to it soon. SG gotta get movin it!
I love the team, i respect them, i wont say anything bad about them no matter what happens. But dear god, this Dead silence is killing me.
Anything at all, anyyyything would be ok. No matter how informal, short, etc it is.
Well even if the Gamersgate date for October its only a placeholder, the port will arrive this year I guess, even if its one person working on it, this cant go more forward than that, also the real reason for the delay of the PC port its the delay of the patch so maybe the port is already finished and they only need to add the changes for the PC port, only I hope when Konami gives them the “ok”, they dont wait for Microsoft/Sony approval and work in the port in that time for even a PC release before the console patch.
“… do precious little to show PC folks you care…”
We don’t know that yet. The PC version could be released with those four colors free, as an apology for the wait. I don’t know much about PC games, but I’ve heard they can be updated much faster than the console releases, so most likely they won’t have to wait these long ass periods for patches. There may be other fun stuff in the future, and I know it’s frustrating, and you can be mad at Reverge for not living up to your expectations, but just please don’t give up on it before it comes out.
Like I said before, they probably don’t have much, if any progress on the port that is worth hearing. I don’t know about you, but if I was watching someone for updates and they kept posting every week with the same response, “In progress”, I’d start to get annoyed. No matter what, waiting this long, regardless of how the wait was dealt with, will upset people. Let me ask you: how would you want them to handle the situation? You’ve said you want updates, but what if there is no news? How often do you want to be told there’s nothing to tell?
There are three things to report that are exclusive for the PC port: System requeriments, graphical options and text chat, also im ok with not say a release date but status % completed of the port at least.
Can you give any of those three things if there has been no progress yet?
Huh? no progress for these things at this point means that the port is still in eary stage of development and I doubt that.
