So I notice a few people hinting that they are going to wait until really late and make large donations. I think they maybe should seriously consider taking that money and putting it into a pot bonus for the SG side tourney. That is if they don’t just want to do it for the charity. If a side tournament with a large pot bonus was announced early enough I feel that people would try to learn and play SG at evo just for the money. That’s one of the main benefits of having the game on the evo main stage anyway, so I think It could be extremely(probably more) helpful especially if it starts to looking matching Melee is impossible.

You’re still completely assuming MikeZ made no profit. Here’s some good business advice: if your game doesn’t turn a profit, you don’t continue making patches for it and paying obscene amounts of money to have them hosted. You don’t plan a sequel for a game that FAILED (in a business sense).
You abandon the project and move on.
MikeZ has clearly turned a profit doing this, otherwise he wouldn’t even have a team.

What would you like people to tell you about the patch for 360? You’ve got the official story unless you never looked it up. Microsoft gave them the run around and they are pretty much fucked now. I don’t know what you’re looking for dude you’re talking to people that believe what being told about the situation. Is it possible theres some bullshit behind the scenes that you’re guessing at? Sure. Is it possible they got unlucky as fuck and are just trying to hold on to something that they believe has the potential to be a great game, that they invested a ton of time into, and they’re just trying to do whatever they can to make the best of the situation? It sure is.

I’m not looking for a conspiracy or lies.
I’m looking at the facts, and the facts show that MikeZ should have never released a game for 360 that was inferior to another version. The problems should have been fixed during QA.
But that’s okay, we got the game and I could handle it.
But then the issue got worse with the patch further shafting 360 owners.
Now it is time for MikeZ to weather heat from customers who have him the benefit of the doubt.
Him claiming that it’s MS’s fault for giving him a “runaround” is complete BS since he should know what their patch guidelines are, and should have applied for the server space a long time before now.
He should be ahead of the game. He owes it to his customers.
Like I said, I supported SG, went to tournaments, and won them. I am now not appreciating the blame game MikeZ is playing, and I’m not believing any of the lies he is giving.
He still hasn’t apologized for giving 360 owners a shit version of the game, and has still not explained why he didn’t apply for server space before he began production on the patch. He should have known it would be over 4mb or whatever the Max is on LIVE.
Now he is getting heat from disgruntled customers, and the diehard ignorant fans aren’t being very supportive of valid heat he should be getting.

I’ve met stream monsters at tournaments, and if you act the same way at tournaments the same way you just did, coming onto a thread with an obnoxious “fuck you mike z”, you’d either get punched for being loud, or ignored for being unfun, the community’s prerogative.
If you really feel betrayed, Mike Z has a stream every Thursday where he answers questions, you should participate in that.
Most of the people here are cool with differing opinions, they’re not cool with looking at walls of text that end in a giant middle finger.
