People who actually go to tournaments and have seen melee love it. Its only the scrubs on SRK that seem to have some agenda against. Believe me there will be 0 groans or backlash if melee makes it. SG was a good idea but man it was just such dry execution. I actually bought it and couldn’t play it for more than a few days since I come from a lot of anime/doujin fighters. It didn’t wow me and I think thats the same problem it had with many others. It was completely devoid of flare and was also a chore to spectate. I hope with this patch Mike Z reduced the blazblue length combos. I can appreciate high level play from everything and even I could not watch SG finals LIVE. It really needs to be revamped to reach a larger audience imo.

I was just stating my opinion and what stopped me and from many others I know continuing playing it. Nothing I said was entirely off base. From when I played SG (admittedly the first few months) the game revolved around incredibly long combos with resets that can happen anywhere due to its combo system. And double. that assist was amazing.

If you can point me to some vids of high level play from this new patch I’d be happy to see it seriously.

From fucking pony hatred (I absolutely despise and loathe most of it’s fanbase) to /v/ style posting to freakin drama over Melee getting past us. Get a grip for fucks sake, a.) We’re donating to cancer (even though I could care less about it, the thought of a game whose breasts have their own hitboxes helping breast cancer amuses me though) and b.) EVO might not be the be all end all for SG. I know I’m going to be playing this even if it dies. I know it’s been said here before, but a community is what makes a game. Sure EVO might bring some fresh blood in, but hey, if we don’t get the place, we’re still around right? Stop fucking crying about it, and keep playing the game for fucks sake.

I’m honestly sick and tired of having Skullgirls get the boot because of all this shit that no one can control.

Autumn gets sued for something completely unrelated, SG team got the boot. But no one will invest in a company undergoing a lawsuit involving NOT RETUNING LOANED MONEY.

Mike works for like 7 fucking months without being paid pretty much exhausting his fucking savings (and so does everyone in LZG) so we can have our motherfucking patch, fucking Microsoft says it’s too big. Half the dying playerbase is already alienated, LZG exhausts their personal savings.

Now, a boost like being a main game at EVO could help bring new players to the game. But people with more disposable income than I have (AS ALWAYS) decide what goes.

If from here to when the donation drive ends I become a millionaire, I’m donating $50,000 to tit cancer and say fuck it all. Then I’m putting another $50k into the pot. And I’m staying in the fucking suite where we’ll have 10 lagless setups.

I think it’s fine as is, just needs that major exposure. A lot of communities are struggling for that (I got my start in VF, I know all about that). EVO is a great opportunity for just that.

Hey, there’s no giving up at all for us! We can do this, and we already proved in the last couple of days. There are lots of time and I’m pretty sure big surprises will happen. It’s a lot better now, from what I’ve played and seen. Double butt no longer completely dominates neutral, combos aren’t as long due to ips changes for solo characters but the team DHC combos could use some sort of tweak to drop the length down a bit more. Resets don’t really happen anywhere, I guess it would seem like that due to the length of the combos. People are still trying to force stuff from before patch into the current version, but it’s a lot better now. Not just about landing the first hit into combo exhibition unless you have a team, meter and positioning to get it started. Also, grabs scale hard, so getting reset into grabs isn’t like getting reset into hits anymore. Strategies outside of mash on amazing assist, confirm into combo are actually viable now.
