Skullgirls is not pad friendly?

I don’t own an arcade stick. Will playing with a pad be okay for skullgirl?

I am not fond with having a light, medium, and a heavy like marvel 1. I prefer the 4 button setup like marvel 2 and 3. It is much more pad friendly.

Also can someone explain the button setup on the pad? What button does what?

It works.

Google.

It’ll be more difficult but it’s workable. You’ll want to set the two assists to their own buttons (but you should be doing this either way so yeah).

Referencing PS3 Pad here

LP = Square
MP = Triangle
HP = R1
LK = X
MK =O
HK = R2

with you thumb you can hit LP LK or MP MK easy, HP HK with your index and middle

Button dash could be done with Square or Triangle + R1

You can set L1/L2 to assist (diagonals) LP+MK/LK+MP or MP+HK/MK+HP.

All commands!

You can MACRO!!! to the trigger buttons
dun dun I recommend watching the Ultrachen TV from last night there are all your answers :smiley:

We have a QandA thread and I just made a thread with the moves list and wiki. The game has an input based button check where you can just press a button and it assigns based on what it asks you to assign. You can also do this in the character select screen.

Figure it out.

I’m probably gonna have the weirdest pad setup for this game. Thank god for macros.

Oh god… people having problems with a 6-button setup?

The PS3 and XBox 360 pads are unfriendly to 6-button setups. Break down and get used to joysticks or buy a real 6-button setup.

They need to get a Hori Commander Pad! Sure, they’ll have to buy from an import shop but unless somebody starts making quality editions of Saturn pads again those are probably the best-built 6-button pads still in production on the market.

Mad Catz pads — not so much. Get a Hori pad. At least it’ll last into next year… (Joke – they’re very durable. MC pads not so great.)

Must be younger guys that never played the older Capcom fighters. I always thought the 4-button stuff was fairly limited. 6-button is way more versatile.

6-button isn’t the problem with Skullgirls… It’s just a brutally tough game for a lot of people (including me so far…!) and I’ve played most of the Capcom fighters with the exception of a few of the poly fighters and the original Street Fighter I. Pretty much played everything else at least a few times. I’ve played most CPS-2 games to death!

Ugh, what? Hori itself has a U.S. site/store.
And you can get them from Amazon too.
HC3P for $35 is what I’m using, works fantasticly.

Doesn’t make up for my own suck though.

I actually thought it wasn’t pad friendly…

It is, especially if you’re rocking one character.
Thankfully, my Chun-Li TE Stick can look all gorgeous in my room, collecting dust. lol

Quit being a douche. The best google results would take him to SRK. He should be getting his answer HERE. You know where he REALLY should be getting his “what button does what”? The same place every other self-respecting company making a fighter puts them.

You can get PDP pads for like 20 bucks. Poof. Problem solved.

I haven’t encountered any problems playing this game on pad. If Wolfkrone can play fucking C.Viper on pad, then you can play Skullgirls on pad, especially since I can and I’m nowhere near GDLK.

This was my config when I played MvC1 on PS1:
L1 = LK … R1 = LP
L2 = MK … R2 = MP
O = HK … X = HP
/\ = 3xK … [ ] = 3xP

If I ever play pad again, I’ll go back to that config.

MVC2 and 3 are 6 button games.

not funny

Lol this isn’t as hard are you make it out to be

But it’s harder than anything in this game by a bit (so far.), so it proved my point well enough.

But it’s also true.

Yeah. I kinda screwed up actually. I was thinking about 6 hits instead of 6 buttons. SG doing it MVC1 way actually which was 6 buttons while being 6 hits.
