Skullgirls Intro/load time bug

Well, like everyone, I was pretty hype about the game since I first saw it.
Never had a chance to play at any tournament or anything, so I wanted to hop right in the first day.
Didn’t have a chance to play at all today until about an hour ago.

Well, I download it, cool. Game’s done downloading. It loads up and everything seems fine.
Until the opening trailer. It seems that there is a HUGE delay in the trailer for whatever reason.
So, not knowing if this is normal, I look up the same trailer on youtube:

Looks fine there!

But check out my trailer intro and load times:

What the crap?

Well, I uninstalled the game and cleared my Xbox’s cache.

Re-downloaded the game and the problem still persists.

I’m not trying to bash Skullgirls or anything, but Mike Z this is a major problem. It shouldn’t take 6 minutes for me to get in training mode/single player/trial mode or any mode for that matter. It’s not a random chance of this happening, this is everytime I’ve gone into play Skullgirls since making this thread and youtube video.

Please fix this, because I shouldn’t have to format my HDD for a XBLA game when I’ve downloaded other XBLA games before with no problems.

Don’t store it on your internal flash memory, store it on a hard drive.

The 360, in general, has longer load times than the PS3, though. MikeZ said he will address this in an upcoming patch.

This is on my HDD.
You know, the huge hard drive with 30gig space or whatever?
It’s a recent 360, not the black series, but has HDMI on the back.

I have the demo on PS3 and the full version on 360. The 360s load times are ridiculous.

The intro is completely messed up for me.
Now, the load screens are 1 minute long no matter what part of the game I try to access.
I would have figured a downloaded game/installed game would have short load times, not 1 minute loads just to get to another screen for another 1 minute loading screen. :frowning:

I have the same problem with the opening cinematic.

No problem with the load times being 1 min like mine?

We’re looking into this, but we have to get it to happen first, which has proved exceedingly difficult.
My apologies…but I have to ask if you’re 1000000% sure you’re running off your HDD and not doing anything else weird.

Dunno if anyone considered it, but if you have a USB storage solution on your 360, try taking it out. It doesn’t apply to official MUs of the “old” 360 models, but for whatever reason, I’ve seen a couple of 360s (including my own) take a much longer time to load almost everything when they’re plugged in. Usually this stems from having to access the USB device, be it a read or write. The read/write speed of the USB device seems irrelevant as well.

(well, the load times are still pretty “meh” regardless though. Shouldn’t be that bad, but worth noting…)

Should of gotten the black one, it runs faster

OH MY GOD that totally might be it! I recall something about how the 360 looks for files on all devices…original poster, please try this! ::hopes::

I have a Slim (yeah, the ‘black’ one) & the load times are perdy steep, I juss dun really care::IZ SKULLGALS!

Hey Mike I got the newest 360 slim and confirmed nothing sticking in the usb ports, well except the arcade stick. And I’m getting what the other guys are saying.

That was a racist yet funny joke…right Ms. Fortune?

Well, that’s cruddy. We’re gonna continue looking into it, but I have no idea what to suggest other than OTL.

It’s alright, just knowing that you are aware if it is satisfying enough for me :D. Awesome game btw! It takes me way back to summer nights in sweaty arcades (that’s a good thing).

I’ve had the same problem but that was because i played the game using a USB key that i found laying around, i went out and bought an xbox 360 hard drive and the load times are as expected back to normal what is happening to the OP is pretty weird though…

Yep. I have the white HDMI version xbox, however it has the 20 gig HDD.
The only things that are connected to my 360 via USB are my TE and my wireless adapter.

I don’t have a USB harddrive, otherwise I would try:

Not that I’ve noticed, though I haven’t been paying much attention. I do notice I load slower than other people though. They already have their characters selected by the time I see the character select screen half the time. I’m using a older model xbox 360 arcade version. Ya know, the original white xbox 360. Running off my larger than average HDD.

You don’t have your XBL profile saved to the cloud or anything do you?
