Skullgirls Intro/load time bug

Yeah, same. White Xbox 360 with the 20 gig model HDD ( I think. It says 13.9 but, whatever.)

No. I even checked to see if I did when I cleared my HDD’s cache.

So, I decided to format my HDD and…

Problem still persists. Formatting deleted everything off of my HDD.
I don’t use the cloud feature.
Nothing was on my HDD and I went to download Skullgirls.
Downloaded it fine, no problems.

Same problems with the loading times and the intro cinematic/trailer.

What the eff. :frowning: Am I not supposed to play this game? Hnng.

No problems like this on PS3?

I’m essentially going to post here what I posted in the GD thread regarding my own load times. My HDD is a custom 7200 RPM drive, hence I have had to deal with slightly less of the loadtime headaches people seem to be having.

Though, from what I’ve gathered from talking to people, X360 load times do literally seem to be all over the place.

Anywho…

Times are in s:cs (seconds:centiseconds)

I’m going to re-do my tests with my TV on game mode to see just how much I screwed it up the first time around. Upon consideration of how badly my TV screws me over when I forget to change to game mode while playing Marvel, there could be a reasonably significant difference in my numbers)

Edit: Ran the second test, and my estimate was about right. If you take off roughly .25-.40 cs from all of my times, they’re accurate. For example, my load to title is 07:04, load to character select in training mode is 09:26, etc.

Just to point it out, game mode should not affect timings. Game mode affects input lag, and that does not change the length of time images are visible. It only changes the absolute time (ie. loading screen will show for 3.00 seconds, but it might show 1 second later).

::shrug:: Maybe my thumb was just a little quicker about stopping my timer this time then.

Considering how many different image-enhancing/modifying settings I use outside of game mode though, I wanted to be sure. Furthermore, I noticed when timing things this time that I could actually see the character select screen in training mode load. As in… the loading bomb went away, I saw the character select screen before it finished loading, and then it finished loading. I don’t recall that little in-between step when testing without my game mode on.

During the credits of beating the story mode, It would hiccup when scrolling down.
I’ll be posting with updates on various thing I notice such as this.

I have both versions, and i feel like the PS3 version is the superior one because it doesn’t load slow and i havent run into the hitbox glitch during matches on PS3.

Mike Z, no word on this?

I have a 250 gb slim black model, and this is also.happening to me, the game takes a lot of time to even get to the title screen, then to the menus and forever to the character select screen.

On the loading scree, music starts really late and then i have to wait 15 or 20 seconds to get to the character select screen, and gheb another 20 to 30 seconds for.the fight to begin.

4 other friends have this game and i have played it on another two cobsoles and this was not an issue but on my xbox it is and it`s realy annoying, even game breaking, i hope it gets fixed soon or else a lot of people having the issue will grow tired of it and stop playing.

Looks like this launch party’s gonna continue until the patch comes out

I also have this problem on my 250 GB Black Slim model. Intro and credits lag as well. The game also seems to trigger the “hitboxes” randomly showing up mid-match due to the game not streaming the sprites fast enough more often on my 360 copy than my PS3 copy (which happens maybe once in a blue moon).

There was also that tournament match yesterday where someone dropped a combo due to the achievement unlocked notification lagging the game enough…unlocking some of the achievements myself on the 360 version I do notice a huge lag spike while playing too, so it’s not just them.

I hope this is fixed soon since it feels silky smooth on PS3, and I want to be able to have a similar experience on both systems.

Bold is my major problem.

When I select characters, watch the credits, or the intro there are stutters/lag which causes out of sync issues.
I’ve noticed hitbox display for about 30 seconds in a match during arcade mode.

Loads take minutes for me too. I have an older xbox Arcade, 20GB. I can try to download it on another xbox we have, but am concerned the same issue will occur.

I’ve notice the load times are way better on PS3 than 360, however I’m running a 360 elite 4 GB and I’ll say that it isn’t that bad on me end.
However, I do notice a huge differences in load times between the PS3 and 360. I will say the 360 version will take me an extra minute or 2 to get into Vs mode.

i’ve noticed that every slim/new 360 load wayyyyyyy faster than all the old one … so i guess that comes from microsoft who changed some part in the 360 and the old one load slower … i got the slim 250 Go and i’m loading online 30sec faster than a friend who got an old generation of 360…

I’m using one of those new black 360s and I have very long loading times as well (playing the demo)… in addition, the game freezes when loading training mode (after selecting the stage) and when loading the 4th tutorial. Music also might start early during the loading screen. Are these related?

I’m just glad it’s not just me.

Just thought I’d post since my experience with the XBLA demo of Skullgirls is pretty much the same as everyone here. Every loading screen slows my Xbox to a crawl (can’t navigate xbox guide at all) and the game goes through three seperate 20/30 second loading screens just to get to the title menu.

I was considering picking this up, but I can’t fork out money for it if I’m going to spend longer looking at loading screens than actually playing, especially since it’s an arcade title.

Hope there’s a patch soon.

Also, I’ve got a 360 Slim 250GB, cloud storage deactivated and no USB storage plugged in.

EDIT: I cleared my cache and re-downloaded the demo and it seems to be working much better now.

I’ve had music starting early due to the long loading, yes. Also, I’ve tried clearing my cache a few times and redownloading but I still have the same issues.
