Man all this talk of Alundra and Valkyrie Profile reminds me I really need to play Vanguard Bandits and Lunar. God I’m so far behind.
Alundra is one of the best action/RPGs of all times.
Nah man, Alundra is easy to get the hang of it. It takes time to master the jumps but is not impossible, it’s a game that requires patience. Enemies don’t take too long, unless you’re using old weapons or spells vs. some bosses (even then I don’t like using spells, some bosses are too epic and I like to fight them as long as possible)
VP2 story is awesome! Don’t let people tell otherwise, it’s made for people who played VP and got the real ending. One of the best twists yet. Plus the fighting system is fun, I went all the way to Iseria Queen in that game.
Real talk I could write a lot of words about why DKR is the best kart racing game, but i won’t bug you guys with it.
Also, never play Mike in Tetris Attack. The dude is nuts.

I remember playing SF2 on the Genesis (press start to switch to kicks lol)
When I had PS1 I bought SFA2 and played the shit out of it. Hated SFA3 when that came out.
I had PS1 MvC1 but lost it :<
I bought a DC solely for MvC2 (I was a big superhero kid).
When I had a PS2/Xbox I had GGXX#R, GGXXAC, SC2 (XB), VF4EVO and SFAC and I borrowed and never returned CvS2 from my cousin.
I had rented GGXX one summer because it was fighting game and then I was all over GG.
GGAC, VF4EVO and 3S on SFAC were the fighters that made me want to learn FGs seriously and VF4EVO tutorials helped me a lot with that.
I fondly remember arcades growing up, XvSF machine, MvC1 machine, MvC2, Tekken 3 (got yelled at by an employee for mashing on the buttons trying to copy the King chain throw stuff lol), the enormous Samurai Shodown machine/projector. Golden Axe Revenge of Death Adder took all my quarters though. I still have few tokens that say Alladin’s Palace with Namco/Pacman on the back.
Anyone remember Die Hard the Arcade? Lol brooms were awesome.

Man, I love TA. Had a bud who passed recently, we used to play that game for hours on end. Up til like 4am, the only thing you’d hear from my basement is a bunch of high chain fanfare, HOCUS POCUS, dog barks. I wish they’d rerelease it or something so I could get some good online play. So lonely…
And I didn’t play valkyrie profile til it got ported to psp, but that game was pretty tight.

The first fighting game I ever played was Guilty Gear, was ok at it but played more for fun. I Started playing Soul Calibur 2 in arcades after that wherever I could find them ( even spent my entire vacation to disney world sitting in the arcade at magic kingdom, which I did every year for 4 years ) and took that much more seriously because I was actually half good at it. Then SC3 came out and I said fuck that, started checking out older 2d fighters. I got really into 3rd strike but the execution was much more demanding than what I had been playing for years with soul calibur so I mainly just dicked around with it and played with friends alot.
I joined srk in 09 when SF4 came out because I wanted to beast the shit out of the game, go wreck kids at the arcade like I did in soul calibur 2. I mained vega in vanilla, then mained hakan in super and still main him in AE. I got pretty decent at SF4 and considered myself pretty good with vega, and I was a monster with hakan ( I preferred characters with interesting normals as opposed to flashiness, I loved vegas long range pokes and movement speed, and I loved hakans set of normals along with his interesting set ups ).
I have always wanted to go to evo, like since the first time my buddy showed me match videos from it way back in the day. But back in 2010 I started having awful fucking panic attacks which lead to an anxiety disorder that I still struggle with every day. Sadly getting on a plane to go to a fighting game tourney is the last of my concerns, but i still love the srk community ( well not all of it but I have met some people through here that have helped me through alot of shit who I cherish ) and enjoy staying active here and helping lab new shit when games drop.
