You know, I can’t believe people are criticizing Skullgirls for offering the chance to fight as bold, sexy, interesting, intelligent women.

Sex sells, it’s an entertainment product, Striped panties certainly existed before the fetish for it, and are no more inappropriate than regular panties, every game panders to its audience, whether in a sexual manner or not, and sexual pandering exists in damn near everything that isn’t targeted at young children.

Long Answer: Your question is flawed from the gate. There’s no reason to assume this pandering is problematic in the first place, there’s no reason to assume that having a sexy aspect to a character undermines anything else about a character. White Knighting in a case like this is not only oppressive to the men that may enjoy the catering to, but it’s even more oppressive to women, in signifying that presenting themselves in a sexually attractive way is unacceptable, or has some sort of negative connotation. Feminism really needs to pick its battles, especially since men are also sexually objectified, and no one complains about that shit. Women are sexy, most men are attracted to sexy women, a good way to attract positive attention is to flaunt it if you got it, and that’s universal. Get over it.
And tits should stop being a big deal after puberty. For everyone. Shit, I’ve seen more sexual pandering on national television than Skullgirls, and those tits are (arguably) real.
