just tried it, no problem getting out excelle… diamond drop only came out if i hit a forward input after a DF input. i tried many motions… excelle always came out as long as no forward motion came out. perhaps you arent inputting both buttons? idk i dont have any trouble doing it on the 1p side which is my “im ass” side as far as dp motions are concerned.

just sounds like you need to clean up your inputs, also of course you should look at the input to see if the game is actually registering a DF input only… it could be your controller, after all.

Son of a- this actually worked for me. Had to make sure to press LP+LK before the blue ball got to :f: to make it work. Now I can get to work

Yeah my brother was the one who figured it out for me. He’s an execution nut so it’s not surprising.

Yeah I forgot this game doesn’t let you fraud out commands like the new Capcom games.

Look at that and see if your directions are off anywhere and/or if it’s due to your pad.

Full screen and/or choose 720p to make it easier to see.

Which pad do you use? I play with a Dualshock and managed to get the command to work with DevilJin’s method

just tried it on my pad heres how it went on my analog:

its MUCH harder (though in game it comes out with ease so i can confirm that something is wonky)
though also once i got used to the motion the assist screen wanted me to do it wasnt to hard… ie i got it out 10 times in a row…

on my dpad: MUCH easier. it actually stops at DF. not much problems with my dpad at all.

my guess is that you are using analog, if so switch to dpad at assist screen. if not and you are using dpad then its probably your pad.

oh yeah my pad is stock 360.

It’s not that I can’t get the assist, just takes quite a few tries.

QCT+Throw having more priority than DP+Throw is a bug, just checked the bugs thread. Mike knows, it’ll be fixed in the patch.

I had a major problem inputting Valentine’s Mortuary Drop assist, could be a pad thing, I used to have to input it like 10 times at the assist select screen, eventually I got the hang of it, the timing is very tight for some reason.

So any of you using alpha counters? I haven’t used it unless I wanted to get my cerebella out of a vs peacock matchup and alpha countered to egret bike but otherwise since my assists are not instant physical hit I almost never use it. Anybody using assist that don’t do anything like the hole idea, fly for Painwheel, dashes to alpha counter better?

hmmm… yeah i know what mike said, but for me using dash as an assist it wouldnt be practical at all. and for most other characters i think there is just way more use for an actual assist… i mean whose assists are so shitty that it would be better to get a dash for instant super on ac?
not my characters… besides if you have an invincible assist they come out fully invincible on AC and can cancel into super so dash for those characters seems kinda dumb. but there are probably more esoteric uses like pushing a point character or something… as far as painwheel using fly i think thats a horrible idea, her flight startup on the ground is something like 15 frames and i dont know if its cancelable into her air super… whereas if she were to pick cr.mp she can cancel IT instantly into her ground super which has invincibility.

though yeah im also looking forward to some creative uses for assists. though i think in the end they will mosly be gimmicky at best… heres to hoping im wrong though.

So far all I’ve found (more like a friend found) in the creative assist category is the devil horns assist in the corner. When you’re in the corner the devil horns assist, if it hits, will send your opponent behind you. All you have to do is dash and there, free corner combo and setups.

Cerebella Diamond Drop assist can put them in the corner if you are there, but also keep them in the corner if you already have them in the corner. Really i guess any assist that allows setup time could do that.

I use Alpha counters whenever I want to tag out. I use mainly when I have Cerebella on point to bring in Peacock. I tend to get blown up most of the time as I have item drop as my Peacock assist. It would be nice to see if I can use Peacock’s teleport as an alpha counter
