lol did you not see some of those resets not work? sure some worked cause he wasnt expecting it mike z probably like the best fillia. Havent seen fillias play that fast. I mean when the game progresses people will learn about those resets.

What if I don’t want to play as Parasoul/M.Fortune/Painwheel? Your answer to this question is that I should just shut up and stop playing the game. Your design approach is terrible. It excludes anyone that does not want to play any of those three characters. On top of that it leads to a game where it turns into a boring ass combo movie starring the person who got the first hit.

I like Mike Z’s changes because it takes into account that most people actually like to PLAY the game and not watch 20-40 second long combos. You talk about how much “skill” it takes to do combos, but that ideology is bullshit. The combos in this game are not even that hard. They are not filled to the brim with links, or complex inputs with the stick. They are easy enough to execute that there are many people that can already do 60-70% combos as M.Fortune/Painwheel/Parasoul. That is only one month into the game. Let me repeat, ONE MONTH. What is going to happen six months down the road? If things are progressing like they are now, you are going to see people do ToD combos with EASE.

I can assure you, I would not want to play a game that revolves around ToD combos. It’s BORING and FRUSTRATING. The complete antithesis of fun, which is the ENTIRE POINT of making a video game. Believe it or not pali, video games are designed to be fun, and the kind of fighting game you want is only fun for YOU because it only involves you. The game you want, only has the other player as a passive part of the game, essentially a one person audience to watch you do 40-50 second ToD combos over and over again.

this is good but, you forget the ability to mash, if someone is on ground how is that a reset? i thought a reset was ending a combo early to start another one. People have options in all those situations in the air they can mash a button some even have air supers. On ground you could mash bella super cause its quick start up or some sort of super that’s semi safe i think 2 or 3 people have dp sort of moves as well. You aren’t a advantage its a 50/50 that you can also be punished for doing, which is why the japanese aren’t reset heavy like goofy americans.

Resets don’t always work, but doesn’t mean they aren’t good. Serverin escaping a mixup didn’t stop MikeZ from going MVC2 Magneto with Filla.

The elimination of crouch tech OS, restands, no UMVC3 style air tech,etc makes resets EXTREMELY powerful.

An example of a grounded reset is cerebella’s HK canceled into command grab, or parasoul’s low/throw after napalm shot. Both can be made pretty safe using the right assists. As long as you have variety they should hit sometimes, more often the better read you have.

I haven’t actually been mashed out of any of my resets with cerebella so I forgot about that, lockdown should beat that too with the right assist.

lol this is exactly what i said, you will need a assist to lockdown people to take these resets. And thats like 2 good assist which does this, so GG for people losing their variety.

imo severin wasnt playing his best when i played him he wasn’t dropping alot of combos like he was against mike z not discrediting mike z’s fillia in the least though its godlike. But If he hit his combos etc those resets wouldn’t have been a issue he also wasn’t playing turtle style which destroys solo characters usually

Prefer this game to be reset emphasis over long combo emphasis. I can play other games if i desire 30 sec combos to be the norm, but this patch in the end will help keep the skullgirl scene healthy so i see no issues with this. **LONG RUN **over **SHORT RUN **people. This is would be the more accurate version of how Mike Z invisioned this game to be.

Ummm, Mashing buttons doesn’t always work against resets if the combo-er is aware of the gaps in his combo. They’re less coinflip and more like controlled dice rolls. Saying it’s 50/50 completely ignores any psychological aspects of the game.

Also, I firmly believe that as the game develops, solo teams will become progressively less popular options, and will make infinites (or super long combos) less favorable, as the life of each character will act as a sort of hard limit, and allowing an opponent to have a full meter at the cost of one of their characters may not be the best choice, regardless of how consistently you can execute your combo.

Actually i played Saki in arcana heart 1 and in arcana heart 2 Akane.

I dont mean mashing things like (jab lk blah) 3 characters have a DP i think and fillia has some kinda safe-ish air supers. Cerbella lvl 3 super is also semi safe. lets say you go for a reset and guess wrong on a lvl 4 cerbella and she does this lvl 3 you lose a whole character for that. Thats utterly ridiculous, i’d rather have guaranteed dmg then be forced to go for a reset.

If someone is doing Cerebella’s level 3, you’re good for two hits, after that, if you’re still hitting, you’re gonna have to hold that.

If you see her digging into the ground, just grab, not a damn thing I can do about it.

I’m so upset by that patch. I used to be able to ToD 1v3’s easily, now I ToD them in a slightly less easy way.

And damn that Nom patch. If it wasn’t for it, I wouldn’t be able to ToD 1v2. Damn it. Wait. Wait, no, that’s a good thing. That’s a good thing, right?

Well… I’m glad I found a way to extend my damage pre-patch AND never bothered with the Nom loop, huh?

To be honest I’m glad the patch exists. It equalizes the cast more. Now everyone has some loop they can use a few times obeying IPS and end it with super and go back to neutral. The momentum shift is currently so obvious that I remember week two or three I was wondering why I hadn’t lost anything longer than a FT5. Hell, the first 2 out of 3 I lost was in the Skullbats tournament #1.

Never tried to normal grab it, also if you’re up close i’ve eaten it pressing only 1 hit.
