Skullgirls Gameplay Discussion Thanks For Playing

This does not apply. At all. It’s a left/right unblockable. Holding left does nothing. Holding right does nothing.

I set the computer to do it to me, and I can’t block. Only thing I can do is a 1-frame reversal super.

And the only person I’m showing it to is Mike Z. If he has no issues with it, I don’t either. It’s a pretty specific thing, but happens pretty often.

It’s also midscreen.

this sounds exactly like my parasoul thing. there is a way to get around it, but that way sure as heck ain’t blocking.

There is no unblockable, i did a overhead and low on milkcow with painwheel and he pushblocked and it blocked it for him.

not high/low, think left/right.

Guys, this is a true left/right unblockable, although there is a 1 frame window to do a super. That’s IT. I’m not even joking.

Thing is, it’s not easy to set up but not impossible. Plus after you get it, you can’t REALLY convert into tons of damage by yourself, but still it’s pretty funny to see.

Pali with them godlike reading comprehension skills…

Folia had a left right unblock able… You just reset into drill xx super and the super hits on either the left side or the right side depending which direction you hold. Not sure if it still works post patch

eh, there no reason to be dramatic gilly, left/right unblockables are part of any 2D fighting game and this is hardly the first setup found in SG. Theres plenty of scummy stuff such as calling an assist to reset grab somebody while they’re stuck on the ground in preblock animations or 50/50 high/low/crossup guessing games.

If you’re not gonna post it, at least report back with more thorough testing.

So far works against Painwheel and Cerebella. Painwheel can get out of it mashing Death Crawl, but it being a left/right unblockable, it’s hard. Bella can dp+MP or grab super, both with basically 1 frame timing to do.

Unblockables in Skullgirls? Awww hell naw.

LOL never mind, i’m an idiot. Doesn’t work.

I think.

I suppose it’s just really ambiguous… let me keep checking.

The fact that its not an air reset means half the cast gets out with their invincible reversal. SG has a 4 frame reversal window I think, with most either hitting on both sides or shifting hitboxes pretty dramatically. Its a small window but no way would you have to do it with 1 frame accuracy. Everybody will probably be able to get out with regular super but that might get blown up if PW has the reactions to Buer Thresher in response. This might sound silly but have you tried chicken blocking or even crouching to make it whiff?

EDIT: herp welp, nevermind me then

It doesn’t work. It’s at best really ambiguous. I’m trying some more times before I say it just doesn’t work.

I didnt read anything they wrote. I just put that just to put it.

Which makes sense if you can’t up/down pretty sure you can’t left/right either derp.

Well, it’s just an ambiguous setup now. I had originally not blocked Death Crawl correctly (lol). But the whole setup gives me terrible ideas.

Also, up/down isn’t the same as left/right. Derp.

Only moment you’re protected against left/right is in the air. Up/down in the ground and the air.

You make me cry with some of the shit that comes out of your mouth

(Or from your fingertips if one wants to be that guy)

This isn’t SF4, the center of your character doesn’t shift a few pixels when turning which direction you’re facing. That’s what allows “unblockable” cross ups in SF4 and afaik, this doesn’t happen in SG. Ambiguous crossups are nothing new.

And yes, reversal window is 4 frames.

:3

I’m slightly confused, how does the starter have less range? I’m loving new Painwheel. Sure, you have to actually hit confirm now, but I’m using Cerecopter for that anyway haha.

You can do the new BnB from a throw, sure it does less now, but it still works and has the same ridiculous reset options.
