New painwheel seems way more difficult. Still does high damage but new combos I’ve been trying seem a lot harder and hitconfirms have to be more precise.

yeah, her hitconfirm no longer has the godly range it used to cause j.mk no longer combos from st.hp (i dont have the patch) and j.lk has to be used instead which has way less range… which im none to happy about cause i know it will affect my style adversely.

but hey heres a couple of thoughts:

to increase the range (and because combos dont do as much damage anymore, there for resets are almost always going to be needed) an artificial way to pump up our range would be to use our otg early:

ie cr.lk,cr.mk,cr.hp xx flight D/F wiffed move, land cr.mk, st.hp xx lk buer, flight cancel (etc)

does flight jmk combo off lk buer cancel??? im thinking not.

also guys is painwheels qcf+lp stagger any different? i remember mike saying that they reduced its advantage on hit, but i dont know if that change stuck or not.

No it doesn’t, in fact you have to be really quick with j.LK as well. It’s not so much about the range, it’s more that you can’t just string into fly and it be good on hit or block if you call an assist, you have to confirm in the first 2 hits properly now

I got an average of 189.8ms which is between 11 and 12 frames.

HK Buer Reaper combos? They do ridiculous damage, damn.

A variation, highest dmg so far is 9400+ with 1 meter. I need to figure out a good midscreen combo though, so far i got used to the qcf.lk loop.

Yeah I’m doing LK Buer Reaper midscreen and HK in the corner. You can do practically anything off of HK Buer. Sucks you can only do 1 MK though =( No 9j.Mk 6j.MK anymore.

I can REALLY increase midscreen damage by starting with c.LK c.MK s.HP xx Pinon Dash, but it is still difficult, though I am getting more consistent with it. You can basically land a full LK Buer combo after it for huge damage.

Time to figure out some LK Buer resets haha, probably pretty similar to her other resets really

EDIT: By the way my corner HK Buer combo is doing 10K for one meter and this is the first version I’ve tried, once optimised, new Painwheel is going. to. hit. hard.

i kinda dont understand what you are saying here… ill just wait till i get the patch i guess.

is the stagger from qcf+lp the same? or has its advantage been lessened? this is very important to me as thats crucial to my pw reset mixups.

Stagger feels the same to me, at least in that I can still dash up s.LP which is what I think you meant? The reset is in tact.

What didn’t you understand? j.MK doesn’t connect from LK Buer, in fact it doesn’t connect from anything except corner HK Buer Reaper, at least without OTGing.

j.LK has to be done immediately out of fly to link off of LK Buer xx Fly. LK Buer has very low hitstun now that it has no knockdown.

EDIT:
Also j.HK doesn’t connect off normal ground bounces without OTG anymore, so I have to actually use OTG in my BnBs now.

well if she does indeed do more damage now, i think that will be offset by throws scaling to 50% and her jhk also scaling combos pretty bad.

what kind of damage are you guys getting from throws?

I haven’t really needed to change anything with my characters. All the old BnBs still work, it’s just you can’t ToD anymore and everything is faster. lol

She does more in the corner, a bit less midscreen from what I’ve noticed. At least with my unoptimised stuff. If I get the Pinon Dash confirm down she’ll be doing more midscreen as well.

ATM I get over 10K in the corner and about 8.8-9k midscreen for one meter. Noticeably less corner carry, but still travels pretty far by the end.
