Filias assist is ass with peacock. I tried all of them and they are no where near as good as other assist, people love saying a character is good yet only like 4 people play with them. That makes complete sense, a character is so great and extremeee resets that no one picks them** correct logic**.
I’m too lazy to provide a big list, people should just take my word for it because i’m pretty damn decent at the game.

Yes a good assist is one that is universal those are going to be the characters people will generally pick and learn. I.E double parasoul valentine.
its the same in like any game with assist people learn the gdlk assist characters. People need to stop defending bad characters or learn how to fight them cause i don’t see filia ever winning a major, peacock either.

Lol how many entrants was it? i didn’t see any of the other major winners at that tournament. Most people just stuck to their main game and didn’t play in the skullgirls tournament even though they are gdlk at the game.
Also that was a bad argument to bring mvc2 cause alot of people use psylocke without magneto, Storm Sent Psy, Cable Ironman Psy, Ironman doom psy, tons of psylocke users man.
102 entrants, and Chris G entered off the top of my head, but that’s pretty irrelevant since the game has such a small scene in general and it’s not like you’ve ever entered a tournament in the game. It was my first one too, and like most people I also have no one to play with.
Also I’ve never seen anyone do well with any of those teams in the later years of that game. Who cares if some randoms use weird teams? That seems to kind of defeat the point of your argument.

Well… i’ve beat the people that won those tournaments, they can also vouch that themselves. I don’t go to tournaments because i’d make more money working then winning a tournament most people just go to get some sort of gamer fame which i don’t really care about i just like bodying people.
(but i also help the scene by teaching people to play i currently play with about 6 to 8 people most of the time who are also pretty decent atm)

There were at least 3 filias in top 8 at evo. Not like the logic of “character is unpopular = character is bad” means anything anyway.

Beating “top-level” players in a controlled leisure environment does not mean shit if you don’t produce those similar results in tourneys where it matters. Maybe a while back, but in later years the “counterpick” to MSP was MSP in general. And I have a huge amount of character inexperience considering I barely play the game at all outside of training mode, true, but you’ve played, as you’ve said, about 1 out of every 1000 matches online? How do you have better experience here than me?
Basically what I’m saying here is the entire damn game is theory at this point except for people who live in the few cities with any kind of scene. I know most of what I say is theory since I have zero people to play and can’t enter tournaments, but at least I (and most people here) try and provide examples and trains of thought. You’re blatantly talking out of your ass.
False i’ve played in other tournaments and done well against good people, in SF4 when i took the game seriously first tournament in Austin(arcade UFO) i took out fubarduck a well respected player among other godlike players and took 5th. I also played in multiple SF4 tournaments after that always atleast top 16, Mvc3 i played in like 2 or 3 tournaments in that too.
I don’t really have the “tournament jitters” if that’s what you’re implying. Just because i don’t enter skullgirls tournaments doesn’t mean it would be any different offline, all the good players i played online had green connection there was no “omg the lag” issues.
After playing peacock for a week i’ve come to realize she’s still booty without the proper assist.
Ok 1 out of 1000 was just a point i was trying to make it was actually atleast 10 filias, also i have a good filia on my friendslist i play every now and then. He knows the resets and all of that but it just doesn’t fly in the long run, sure he’ll land 1 reset then i block the next one and end up killing him in 1(if i feel like it) or 2 combos. Filia does not have the best resets imo i can see them, painwheel on the other hand has way better pressure, valentine does as well hard to get her off of you with her multiple hitting crap her air to air is also better than filia. I can just S.Hp or J.Hp with parasoul and knock filia out of the air free everytime, she does NOT cut the mustard.

You may have a point, you did say 3 character teams… I missed that. Still i dont think you are correct but i have to t-mode some things down and i dont have my system around atm. I just dont like filia second cause shes so unsafe at 2nd. Your position of nothing is safe cause of ac could be said of almost everything in the game… I think its a stretch to try and make your point.
Storm being best character in the game doesnt mean much when she is no longer part of one of the best shells in the game… Its a team game and storm cant win it by herself. Shes nowhere near as good a psylocke user as mags is. Shes primarily there for safe dhc and to tag mags out then waste time building meter and poke with hail while trying to engineer mags back in. Psylocke is of course never supposed to see point action. The team is completely based around magneto and without him it suffers horribly.
But thats mvc2. Sg being so momentum based is also a game where one battery can reasonably be expected to dominate and have teams designed to dominate with that one point character as the focal point of a strategy… I already see it in most games that i see. If the point gets taken out early ther is a VERY GOOD chance the game is lost, already, barring some 9th inning chokes and uber yomi comebacks… There is no XF in this game and tods are getting nerfed, this makes reset characters stronger and it makes 3 character 1 battery that never dies teams much more viable since there is no XF nor easy mode stupid non scaled damage lvl 3 for point characters to deal with. Mvc3 is a game where you have to plan on atleast 1 or 2 characters on your team dying… There are to many ways to just straight out kill via resources like major meter, or tac, or XF pop.
Tldr, i just dont think its a good idea to ever “let” your character die, not in sg… In umvc3? Sure just let the battery die and take the meter gain so that you can easy tod on the next hit anyway… But that isnt how this game looks to pan out.

if you think you can see Filia’s resets you’re either lying or playing against sub-par filias. She has a 12f overhead which is the fastest in the game and too fast to be reliably reacted to. Plus she can make you guess multiple high-lows in the same mixup, and a crossup that is essentially a pure 50/50. All with the threat of a throw which is also not reliably techable on reaction.
