Filia will be tons better post patch. First, she has all the resets and mixups she has now (which are BTW very good against anyone who does not have an invincible assist mashing habit lol). Add to that that she will finally have a midscreen relaunch loop that doesn’t use all of your aerial normal options. She will also consistently combo Hairball into Gregor Samson against the whole cast AND Fenrir Drive hits on frame 0 after the super freeze.

How is this not an insane amount of buffs? lol

Well, I can’t complain. Even though the problem loops were removed for Fortune (good riddance honestly) and her head attacks do less damage, she has an ACTUAL high/low mixup in her rekkas since the overhead was sped up, she can cancel into air blockbusters from the overhead rekka if the opponent tries to punish it.

And Peacock can now OTG from her air throws in the corner. Ha.

Fenrir drive already hits frame 0 after the flash.

I don’t think the 2nd character needs a safe DHC on a 3 character team. You can just let the first character die, or DHC to them in a combo or hard tag after a kill. Being able to use meter and having a good alpha counter/assist seems more important.

What Filia does best is abuse the fact that you have 3 characters. She already has low damage so she wouldn’t be ToDing anyway, she lets you have a lockdown assist as well as the best AA assist in the game, and she can abuse the surplus of meter that having a character in front of her would give her.

Doesn’t matter, alot of people have better resets than her. And you can’t really DHC to get her in safely.

Painwheel Parasoul Valentine Double all have better resets than filia. And peacock is better than her too so thats like 5 better characters to choose.

Nah they don’t, filia has better resets than all of them except maybe painwheel but even then I’d give the edge to filia.

How about we explain why x is better than y…

I don’t really know how to explain how good filia’s resets are… but she has the fastest overhead in the game, a really ambiguous crossup (airdash j.hk), mixups where she can do 1, 2, 3, or 4 overheads in a row, and a billion throw setups. I swear I never fought anyone at EVO who could block my Filia resets. Every match I lost was because they had better neutral game than me and I never got an opportunity to go for a reset in the first place. Or because I dropped a combo :smiley:

Filia blockstrings off assists long enough to get the assist out for another blockstring. If you don’t push block perfectly you eat another mix up. Her pressure is relentless with any sort of lockdown assist. Her chain cancels are the scariest thing about her. They keep going, and if you hesitate to perform an action, she can start all over.

Funny that you mention that because that’s exactly how I fight Filia. As long as I can keep it at the neutral game then I can control the match against her. ALSO Filia was blowing people the hell up at Evo. I WARNED YOU ALL!

Everyone seems to think that the extra 4 frame long break window is going to save there turtling, pushblocking everything, obvious defense abusing asses… It wont, low/throw will still kill, turtle shells will still get stomped up. The only thing ths really does is give a SLIGHT option select timing break/crouch block and also gives the defender a chance to throw the attacker in certain mixup scenarios… But its mostly moot, if you mash throw break low will stiil own you, if you crouch block there is a small option select timing to be abused. Crouch first, then stand tech.

But airborn overheads will still blow that up as will characters that have low attacks after the throw threat.

Tldr, throws will still own people will still need to learn actual pattern based defense and how to make reads.

Also, i predict that throws are actually going to be much more used prepatch cause easy mode assist confirm is gone meaning that characters are going to be scrambling for openers.

Ac requires a block, which is risky… No good opponent is just going to throw a fireball at a character that is full screen away allowing easy ac.
And ac can also be blocked… If ac were so good you would have seen people using it insteadof dhc x2 in marvel… Since ac takes one less meter.

Assuming you’re talking to me, I’m saying it’s an asset that Filia has, its not a reliable way to get people in. You don’t need to get Filia in that badly outside of a combo or a kill, that’s not the point. Safe DHC ins aren’t that important on a three character team. No character in the game besides Painwheel has a fully safe one, either, and that’s her level 3.

Never getting a chance to go for a reset just makes my point even better, zoners can body filia free. If her mixups are so great as noted i’d love to know the reason why i’ve played against 1 filia out of like 1000 matches in a 8 character game.

Cable AC into AHVB was used a lot, Filia’s is pretty similar.

Her assist also suck ass with different team combinations.

That makes zero sense at all. My point is valid because i’m gdlk and i play 5 characters one of them being filia in which i think is a booboo character when you can do better stuff with the other characters i play.

You may not mind letting your painwheel die… I do, therefor i like safe dhc so that i can do that without killing my 2nd character. Umvc3 has taught you bad habits if you think its fine to let your point character die… Safe dhc is VERY strong in this game because of how quickly characters regain red health. My team IS PAINWHEEL. Losing her is like losing magneto on msp. My 2character team is designed for painwheel to never leave battle, but in case she does need to, she can, not only that but safe dhc also gives me safe reversal in situations where i want to reversal but dont want to take damage if i dont guess right… With no safe dhc you have none of those options… Also bike super and catellites are safe on block if the point chracters super put the opponent into blockstun… And doubles is even more safe cause she diesnt have to do anything blockable, meaning nothing for the opponent to ac.

Cable aa assist into ahvb is completely safe on block… Wiffed or blocked samson is not… People just srent punishing it… Once we gave better training mode peope will start punishing it and that " option" will disappear or will be matchup specific and used against characters that cant punish it.

Is Air Gregor really not safe? I thought it was if you used it low enough? It really is too much of a pain to training mode it lol.

If air gregor is safe on block ( which i doubt, but this isnt a capcom game) then its news to me… If it is, then yeah that changes things significantly.

I specifically mentioned 3 character teams, and you start talking about your 2 character team? None of those supers are safe if you know how to alpha counter, especially if they use Filia in the back who can alpha counter and super into a full combo. Being punishable with a full combo hardly seems safe to me.

However I do think Painwheel having a (reasonably) safe DHC is pretty good too since she has no non-super reversals, but the only characters that can even help her at all with that are Double and Parasoul. In that case, Double is obviously not a good second, and your only option is Parasoul which is still punishable from certain parts of the screen, and that takes into account that they block Death Crawl. So basically you’re left with a single safe situational option to DHC out on block in the game with the one point character in the game that really needs it. Somewhat safe DHCs are good too though, and Filia doesn’t really have one, but in that situation I think letting Painwheel die, fishing for an alpha counter, or just DHCing twice to your third is better because it gives Filia a lot of meter

Also I find it funny that you think losing Magneto on MSP is game over when he has arguably the best character in the game sitting behind him with extra meter.

Edit: If anyone thinks Filia’s assist is bad they don’t understand the game very well.
