Skullgirls Bugs & Glitches Thread - Check First Post

Hey, that’s exactly how I have to play all my online matches on PSN when I try to play someone from the US do to the ping and distance from my secret ice fortress here in Chile.

Did you and him try it out with a GGPO setting higher than 0, maybe 1-2, to see if it still slowed down?

No…but I’ve tried it with other people and it didn’t make a difference.

Did you play those people with GGPO set to 0 too?

I made posts on the salt thread about the ranking system. I gave it the benefit of the doubt, and then just gave up… But after watching the rankings I think there’s something wrong with how the rankings are calculated:

I’m not the only person who noticed this either… There’s another thread where someone said the same things (I found it after I made my post) but I can’t seem to find it again…

edit: Xbox Live Leaderboards Broken? (Glitch?)

edit2: I coulda swore i mentioned this in the post originally. but I guess it’s kind of obvious from the linke… xbox live leaderboards… not PS3.

I’ll do another test later tonight with someone else and see what happens.

You should try playing people that slowdown on 0 delay with 1-2 delay and see if it fixes it.

Console : Xbox 360
Console model : Elite
Hard drive size : 120GB
Game mode glitch occurred in : Versus
Team and assists you used (if you remember) : Valentine, Ms Fortune, Parasoul
Team and assists opponent used (if you remember) : Cerebella
Stage being played : Little Insmouth
Type of glitch : Graphic
I had Ms Fortune out with little to no life, I used a snapback on her head full screen. My friend used Bella’s level 3 I think and my character died but after that Fortune’s head just kinda floats into the air then disappears. The game had the super flash darkness on for the rest of the match but if you used a super it would turn normal for a brief second then endless darkness returned.

Online leaderboards seem to be buggy. Wins seem to count as losses more often than not.

Also the game doesn’t give you any indication that you got a perfect. Adding that in would be nice <3.

The screen at the end says “Hit on all sixes” when you get a perfect.

So I encountered a very strange glitch today. I set up a match and eventually got paired with somebody. But when I confirmed, it seemed as though the other person left the match, as for just a moment, a message popped on screen (though it wasn’t up long enough for me to read it.)

Anyway, we moved onto the character select, and everything seemed normal, until the match started. instead of loading a stage, we ended up fighting on… the matchmaking screen. It was pretty damn weird.
What’s worse was that the glitch happened a second time when I made a new match, and a third time even after I quit the game once. I had to turn off the console and turn it back on to get rid of the glitch.

Checking in once again, got my first crash after playing around 40 or 50 local matches with a friend (on the Xbox 360), after we finished the fight I wanted to change characters, got into the loading screen and the Xbox froze, only happened once so far.

Other than that, I have a couple of suggestions (which aren’t really important, but feel free to coment about them):

While me and said friend were playing mirror matches in order to get the pallete number 9 for all characters, we noticed that the intro lines for the characters never got repeated, with the exception of Painwheel, when she says “Must… Kill…”, sometimes both characters would say that one after the other. It’s just a little presentation tweak that would definitely feel better and would probably be easy to implement.

The other one is a personal opinion about Valentine’s level 3, which is the best thing ever by the way, but I feel like its a little bit too long. When she says “Tell me where it hurts…” you could probably shave a second or half-second off that part (before her face morphs into a skull) in order to improve the overall flow of the Blockbuster.

With that said, Mike Z, thank you so much for delivering this slice of heaven to my home, I honestly haven’t had this much fun with a fighter since Guilty Gear: Accent Core came out. I can’t praise it enough, it’s an amazing game. Congratulations!

Skullgirls on 360, once I finish all the story modes and save/quit, the next load makes the save file corrupt. I have tried twice on two different consoles, corrupt save means I can’t use the amazing Celty costume for Ms Fortune :frowning:

Main menu and then Exit yields the same result… :frowning:

Console : PS3
Console model : Slim
Hard drive size : 120 GB
Game mode glitch occurred in : Versus
Team and assists you used (if you remember) : Parasoul-Egret Charge, Ms. Fortune-fiber upper M, Valentine-cr. mk
Team and assists opponent used (if you remember) : Cerebella-Cerecoptor, Peacock-Air Show, Parasoul-Napalm Pillar H
Stage being played : Don’t remember
Type of glitch : Gameplay Freeze
Other : During a winner’s finals match, my friend does Cerebella’s Diamond Dynamo super out of range. Since Cerebella was almost dead I went for Silent Scope super to whiff punish while it was still going but the entire match froze after the super freeze. The scope was still on Cerebella but no gunshot occurred. No in-game inputs or DHC would register either.
The only thing we could do was go to the pause menu and end the match to restart. Needless to say I was pissed.
I don’t think any assists were on-screen… just point characters doing those supers.

Fat PS3. Hard drive from this year. Online takes too long to find a match and sometimes it will hang at “Joined a Room!” forever and i have to quit out and try again.

after a long set of local vs games (maybe 2 hours straight at least), one of the matches loaded (we both hit Play Again) at like half the framerate and for about the first 15 seconds it just stayed like that, moving at like 30fps, inputs registered fine (albeit at the slower framerate) sound wasn’t stuttering or anything, it just felt like the “underwater” sf4 laggy framerate. On XBOX360, and we had it set up on a stream (in case that means anything, it wasn’t broadcasting at the time so I can’t find a video unfortunately)

PS3 Fat.
Fight Bloody Marie and the FPS drops quite a bit. It feels like it’s in the single digits during a significant portion of the fight and I do not get this lag on any other fight. This was during Filia’s story mode.

Does this happen on the 360 as well or is this a PS3 specific issue?

Yeah, or I could let you press Select to skip it, a la RPGs.

For the leaderboards win-and-go-down-in-rank stuff, that’s very strange because we didn’t write the rank calculations on 360, Microsoft did. >.< I’m betting it might just be laggy, like updating other peoples’ ranks but not your own…?

Hmm. Which one of you was player 1? If you can remember, did it happen to be that the superflashes were at the same time or close to each other? Not really sure why yet, fishing for more info. And my apologies, haha. What’d the judge say?

Aha. Will fix. Though, y’know, it’s cool… :^)

Update on the Valentine level 3 subject I mentioned earlier, the strangest thing just happened, I did it again and the duration was just right! I’m guessing this is related to the loading issues that cause the hitbox and intro screen glitches, is it having trouble loading the final part of the special because of those?

I’ve done it a few times for testing purposes and it definitely has different duration times… Including that strange pause before the ending.

It will probably go away when the loading issues get patched, so its all good.

EDIT: Just saw the reply. Skip it and deprive myself of those beautiful surgical skills? No deal Mr. Z

Not really much of a problem but something I noticed.

The voices on the character select screen are controlled by Sound Effects volume rather than Voices.
