Skull Girls Story Discussion Thread: ALERT! SPOILERS INBOUND!

YOOOOOOOOO!!! You’re just keep blowing my mind maaaan =O
Also yeah that portrait isn’t Vitale but damn they look the same =\

I’m now starting to realise how much deeper Skullgirls story is than I original thought.
With more characters their will surely be more depth. And more stuff to find.

THAT’S WHY IT NEEDS TRUE STORY MODE GODDAMNIT!!! People just don’t realize there is shitload of stuff going on. People were actually praising existing one without knowing that it was just a mere teaser… ;_;

Damn good finds.

I wish the Peacock matchup thread would move like this. -_-

Well if I’m right about there being multiple timelines in each story then the events which made Marie and Peacock friends might have played out differently.

Marie was most likely part of a group of war orphans with Peacock in it. As the story hints through knowledge of Peacock’s past–they were attacked by slave traders. In Peacock’s story Marie says that Peacock stood up for them(or something along those lines). It was most likely here that she was mutilated and God knows what else. Definitely a sacrifice worthy of admiration and friendship.

If in Double’s timeline perhaps Peacock was a selfish and self-serving jerk who only stuck with the group to lessen the chance of getting captured (by using decoys) and still got captured anyway?

It’d definitely make the whole attitude switch more understandable.

Aeon did mention tracing timelines too, so multi-timeline universes theory seems strong.

I don’t think that’s the case. When they say noncanon they mean the chain of events in the short stories we see ingame, but I highly doubt their backstories will be retconned. Remember how Marie pleaded with Double not to hurt Peacock in Double’s story? The backgrounds are all the same. (That’s why I was confused about Val’s story, but at the same time hers seemed kind of OOC across the board to me.)

I like how it takes for someone else to repost the same exact things I’ve been saying for a month before everyone else starts to notice them.

Doesn’t have to be retconned if the multiple timeline theory is correct. All Alex/Aeon/Reverge has to say is something like “That was a possibility as well.”

I’ll use Higurashi as an example again since it uses that theory.

in chapters that were not shown, sometimes Keiichi did not move there at all causing huge shifts of attitudes, events and so forth.

I believe Skullgirls story plays out very similar, each story just having an event or two butterfly effecting the plot to each of their conclusions.
So every story could be said to have happened and is true/cannon, but is not the best timeline, or the timeline chosen of the least amount of conflict.
As with my examples above, key players(Aeon and Venus) are missing from the scenarios/timelines which would make a huge effect on the timeline.

Edit: Zage I think it’s the pictures.

Woops! Sorry about that, man. Totally missed your post last time around. Probably needed more pictures ;D

Definitely pictures. Because without pictures ‘it’s just like totally your own opinion, man’. Even if you’re actually right.

In fairness though, the part that Zage had already said was the one part of my post that didn’t have any pictures

Oh, Lorenzo and Life Gem part? But that wasn’t the thing I gave YOU credit for. I remembered that it was mentioned before. So no hard feelings Zage! =3

Food for thought: Ricardo is a low level thug for the Medici Mafia, but does not recognise Filia or Samson when he bumps into her in the diner at the start of her story.

perhaps having a different hair color may be enough to disguise her?

here’s a silly idea i had today: is Mother’s Day the most holy holiday in the Goddess Trinity religion’s calendar?

well if they say that he didn’t recognize her because of circumstances I’ll believe it. he had no time to look at her closely.

Shoulda recognized DAT ASS

I have impression she was more slim pre-samson’d, but that’s just me =P

It’d make sense in an “ok this is a game I’ll accept that logic” type of way. But art wise she doesn’t look to have changed so much that people who should recognize her no longer do.

I think I put that as an edit in my last long post if not I was thinking it. But they could say he wasn’t looking at her face and he was used just to introduce Samson in the same way Lawrence"Badass Katana" Mook cut Nadia’s head off just to show she’s immortal.

He was grabbing her from the back. Her eyes changed color. And basically right after he get a chance to look at her face he was distracted by Samson so it wasn’t that big of a stretch. And that part of cutting MF’s head clean still kinda bothers me. They put it in for style and script purposes but I’m not sure it was really believable… >_> If anything it shows that mafia is not joking around B[

I just like to think that that’s how that guy reacts to everything, even the smallest slights.

Doesn’t like getting cheek from the service at a restaurant? Off with her head!

No toilet paper in the bathroom? Off with his head!

Hair in his soup? Off with their heads!

So basically Samson is the Queen of Hearts.

I expect fan art immediately.
