Yeah, touchy subject. Capcom will charge about $1.67 per character for sftxt. I dont know if its fair to compare their pricing to this game, but thats 3 characters for 5 dollars, so maybe i’td be fair for SG to offer 2 characters + story mode for $5? Just wondering
Of course is not fair, on one hand all the work on those DLC chars was finalized and locked, not worked after release, on the other the only reason they aren’t charging $5 or more per character is to minimize the damage of the locked content DLC fiasco.
Yep, not buying it myself, heh (stopped playing sfxt a while ago). I don know, I think charging $10 for 2 characters (with or without story mode) would be a bit too much, no?
Unfortunately that’s something that is in the publisher control, not the developers, but I will take anything from $5 or less with a smile and a “take my money” jpg.
I’m curious if the Living Weapons will be explored, personality-wise. Judging from some of the sketches, I’m looking forward how Umbrella’s Hungern will turn out. Still, I’m actually most curious about Krieg’s origins and personality (hopefully he has one), just because he really wasn’t addressed in Parasoul’s story.
Weapons and Parasites back stories would help a lot to flesh out the SG universe, even if it’s brief but with substance.
Why not just bundle it with DLC characters? Eg. get all 4 DLC characters and you’ll get a full length canonical episode. If you try to sell the story alone, people will just rip and upload it to youtube (ppl are already ripping the ending images). If you bundle with other DLCs, this will definitely increase DLC sales and ripping story onto youtube will not be much of a problem.
I kinda like the mystery surrounding them. They’re treated like a known part of the skullgirls world, which to me makes it seem more authentic.
Skull Heart only does girls :3
BUT I REQUIRE MORE TO SATIATE MY SKULLGIRLS FANTASY WORLD KNOWLEDGE HUNGER!!!
If you want future story lines to be predictable, then keep making plot suggestions to the developers.
I didn’t mean that it wasn’t unheard of. I’m just saying that it’s really stupid thing to do. And instead of aforementioned games SG already has canonical plot and characters backstories and whatnot. The problem is - team is so small and busy (not to bring money issues) that they can’t turn all this plot into proper form of dialogues, arts and voiceovers. That’s why I’m not mind to pay - because I want this story and I’m pretty sure publisher is not very eager to throw many at Reverge just so they’ll able to create the proper storymode.
This is how I kinda imagine the “living weapon” personalities turning out
Samson: Jerk, Alcoholic, Likes to Party.
Leviathan: Mr. Morality, Caring, Responsible.
Hungern: Cockney Troll, Lazy, Inappropriate.
Krieg: Cold, Always Serious, Perfectionist.
Vice Versa: Rough Tough Dude, Manly Man, Braggart.
I haven’t noticed that! Holy shit, she offed Cerebella!
About some of the characters divergent actions and attitudes during story mode (Ms. Fortune being bent on revenge in one path and on ressurrection in another), since they are different possibilities played by the trinity, we could consider them different paths/decisions that the characters have decided to do with their lifes.
I am for a Ms. Fortune divided between revenge and protection of her friends. Like Guts from Berserk. She does make a scary face in Cerebella’s path.
Many people didn’t like Cerebella’s ending. But, not because it was a “meh ending” (the worst kind) but because it was disturbing, infuriating and polemical. Made us discuss things. So it was a great ending.
I am still angry with Bella for crushing Fortune (specially considering that she maybe not dead even after that). I recognize that she wanted to protect those she loved, and that she had to deal with the cat in some way for that. The problem is that she protects and loves scum of human beings. People should have some kind of compromise with their morals and not use love to excuse their own actions and of others.
I am hoping for a big development on these two in future DLC.
It was hardly a Polemical thing.
“Waaah, she killed my favourite character”
“Waaah, but she is a pure maiden”
“But she works for the MAFIA”
"nu-uh, pure maiden"
In fact, Reverge should start working on something that tell us “Hey, Maybe, JUST MAYBE, the Mafia isn’t so bad after all” like it was done on the classical mafioso movies. Here we just have a bunch of slave traders, who have connection to the circus and are really smug about what they do. All the good that Vitale possibly did to Cerebella was almost instantly dismissed seconds after his first appearance where he goes to the circus and goes all “No one gives a fuck about what you do Cerebella, now get me Life Gem Back”. Also how powerful Vitale is in his family? I know that Lorenzo is the head of the mob, but Vitale doesn’t seem so weak either
Most criminals are just common people with a more extreme version of the monkeysphere. They care for the people close to them and view everyone else as items in a supermarket.
Ah, this is a monkeysphere: http://www.cracked.com/article_14990_what-monkeysphere.html
Polemical in terms of morality. Is it right to kill to save your family? Even if that family build your house with the bones of other families?
i think he’s high up in their command structure.
i was also thinking about filia’s past involving her “medici blood.” i have a sneaking suspicion that the events leading to her memory loss are directly connected with the carol getting taken to the ASG labs.
I also thought about that. I am imagining a scenario where Carol gets so teeth shatering angry with Filia that when the fight starts she doesnt have any voice during it because she is totally focused on the kill. No music either.
This is pretty much why I like her ending (possibly my favourite one) - because it’s reeeeally messed up. Bella’s not an idiot. She knows that her daddy figure is a criminal who likely kills people all the time. The fact that she is so obsessed with him that she is willing to crush someone to death with basically her bare hands just to please him is really wrong. That Cerebella then seems to regret that decision gives her a lot more depth than the typical fighting game ending would offer.
What I can’t really decide though is whether she regrets killing Ms.Fortune outright or that she now knows she’s willing to kill just to get attention from Medici, which is another great level of ambiguity to her.
I kind of got the impression that Samson feels a little guilty towards Fillia for some reason. When she wants to go after Painwheel to find out more about her past, Samson doesn’t seem like he’s put out just because Fillia might find out some deep dark secret and she’ll stop listening to him, but almost like he’s ashamed of that secret.
But the thing is, we don’t see any criminal helping other criminal.
What we see is a girl with daddy issues killing a catgirl, and then dressing around as a playboy bunny to her daddy figure.
Sure, the classic mafia boss were jerks too, but you could see the bonds of the family running through them.
In skullgirls we just have a selfgloating boss and a pure maiden assassin from the circus
