As far as my own skating endeavors go, now that I have someone to skate with again I’ve been getting back into the habit. Got some alright footage yesterday and took some nasty falls. Felt good though.

Style is such a vague term in skateboarding. It could be trick variety, how clean someone can do a trick, or even how unique looking the skaters movements are (the gonz can be wearing a scuba suit and a football helment and you can still tell its the gonz skating).
That said its hard to say who has the best style.

Uhh what? Appleyard is cool and all, but he is not the most technical skater, and his switch arsenal is so miniscule compared to Mike Mo’s.
The only person i would put in the ring against Mike Mo in terms of style, is Paul Rodriguez, Marc Jonson, Koston, Brandon Biebel, or Carroll.
They make things look so easy and good, you can barely even tell when Mike Mo or Paul Rodriguez are skating switch.
By style, i mean all around. Trick arsenal, how they look on video, how clean their tricks are, and their personality.
Yeah i would definitely put Prod over Mike mo, just because he doesn’t really skate hand rails.
I like Appleyard’s style, not his technicality which are two different thing’s IMO

In Raziel’s eyes style=tech and the more tech you are the more style, which is not really wrong because “style” is such a vague term. At the same time a common thought is that a skater such as P-rod is so technically sound that he is almost robotic, to the point that he has zero style. But I dunno, its whatever

lol i dont even care anymore…its not worth my energy to really type or argue. People will always attach themselves for the quickest way for a buck. And ya know what it makes me happy that good minorities extreme sports stars are getting the love they truly deserved and have deserved for the past two decades.

Raleigh Park Experience
Skated a newly opened cement park in raleigh, and it whopped my ass. I got a bruise on my tailbone area.
It really kinda humbled my goals to be a black grant taylor

ugh so I wanted to get back into skating, so I went to SkateWarehouse.com (online stores ugh I know) but I did that and got a citystars bored (Kareem Campbell’s Company). So I’ve been just skating around trying to get used to things again, no tricks just gliding around, but here and there I’ve been trying to get my ollies down, just standing still, but I notice the board drifts away in mid air, or i land on the edges and stumble off, what am I doing wrong here? and also what should I be working on first in terms of my progression in learning to skate?

It seems like your trying to ollie too high too soon. Do smaller ollies until you feel like you got good control of the board then work your way up . Just keep practicing man and you’ll get it. You should be learning just basic tricks like manuals, shuv its and getting that ollie down then you should be good to go.
