I kind of think it is essential because the only other option I would have of landing the ultra would be out of a focus crumple. There are a lot of good SF4 players out there and with me being not very good, I need all the help I can get.
Are there any PS3 controller users out there pulling off SJCs (mainly into U2) consistently?
Yeah man no worries. We’ll play some games soon, I might make it tonight for like 30 minutes tops, but tomorrow I should definitely be on at night.
Anyone else find this video really really helpful for getting the motions and timing down through shortcuts to start out with?

Around the 8:40ish mark.
I’ve gotten pretty good results now with lpmphp SJC U2. It’s all about when you hit the KKK. I try to time it just as the HP is coming out. The QCuFx2 really isn’t the problem. It’s when you push the KKK. I can get it pretty consistently now from both sides. At least in training mode. I still have a long way to go to get any good with Ibuki…
When do you start the motion QCuFx2? After or before you press hp?
If by “consistently” you mean at least 50% then yeah me lol. But then again I haven’t really practiced it that much.
Before or during. I’m not really sure. But I don’t really do it that fast so I’m definitely NOT starting the motions after I press HP. You don’t have to do the motion that fast. I think I start the QCF when I press mp. Like I said, it’s all about when you press KKK.
this works fine for me…thank you…
oke peoples… what works for me with the target combo jump cancel dash is to use the negative edge on the final hk input. I have it working 8 out of 10 times so thats pretty nice.
lp, mp, down hk, press hk and hold, do the motion and release the hk… its simple but once you get the timing right its a breeze.
This can’t possibly be right, unless that :db: input is absolutely necessary, because I must have tried this like at least 1000 times and the U2 only seems to connect randomly. I turned on input display in training mode and it’s definitely saying I’m inputting exactly :qcf::qcf::uf: :lk::mk::hk:
I dunno about anybody else, but I’ve had better success simply inputting :d::u::qcf::qcf: :lk::mk::hk: very very fast.

Trying to do SJC dash, what am i doing wrong?
^ video doesn’t work.
Just have to wait for processing.
omg I’m finally doing it, first off if you need help with doing it check out Justin Wongs Ibuki walkthrough and look at the speed of cancel. Before you begin even trying the cancel practice learning the speed of the high jump, I would suggest that you try ibuki’s standing hard punk and cancel into a normal high jump after the first impact. keep doing that and get familiar with the speeds, then try to buffer an double q.circle input while you’re super jumping. It may be tough at first but learn the speeds and it will come to you.
From the looks of it,you’re mashing roundhouse when you’re executing target combo 6.
It also looks like you’re trying to super jump cancel too early and your motions seem to be a little off.
You’re not Super jumping, you’re doing TC and then buffering Kasumi. You need to Super jump cancel the HK frames into a Kasumi. After you see the second HK of the Target Combo hit, do :qcf::uf::hk:. Just make sure you buffer it slightly after the second HK hits.
IMO the easiest SJC into U2 is C.MP.
I did it in a real match a few times online last night. It can be used to punish a poorly used Pinwheel from Juri too. Since C.MP -> neckbreaker is how I punish blocked pinwheels.
Thanks!
This really helped, doing it a 100% now.
Has anybody tried doing like a 540ish for the SJC xx U2? Like gief’s ultra or something. I’m a pad player and I find it awkward to have to let go of the pad for a split second the same way stick players go into neutral and then do a tiger knee uf. Something like :qcf::uf::u::ub::l::db::qcf::uf: :lk::mk::hk:
