how useful is doing the sjc cmd dash after her lp,mp,c.hk,hk TC? It seems like just doing the super jump after is pretty gdlk because you can do any of her air chains (match up dependent) or if you notice you’re about to cross up you can do j.mk or just jump empty into mind game fuckery (i.e. grab, raida, dp+k, or bait out an attack) or if you think they are going to try to mash on something you can do ex kunai to stuff them.
however i AM going to learn how to do lk,mk,sjc U2 since that isn’t nearly as hard to do AND it just seems hella useful since it’s the only way to consistently combo into that ultra.
honestly it’s better than getting a random cmd dash like in 3s and eating a mashed out attack that causes 25% extra damage
You need to do the target combo and WAIT until you input s.HP before you even do the motions for the ultra. as soon as the hp is about to hit, do the QCF’s +kicks (ending with up-forward of course) as fast as you can. Just press HP, then do the ultra motions and hit kicks at the right time.
i’m getting it every time now that i am waiting. when you do it too soon you’ll just buffer a kazegiri.
Funny thing is I got all happy cuz I did this first try. I’m not really consistent with this…I dunno if its the shortcuts, but I keep getting DP or Ibuki just stands there after the chain. I have more trouble with her target combo into command dash…how the fuck do you do it?
i can do it pretty much outside of a target combo just by holding down and pressing HP before the command. but when ever i try it with lp mp hp i get krazegirl or if the ultra does come out its blocked
You’re the second person I’ve seen lately that has mentoined the lk,mk variation being easier to land but I’m curious as to why. I haven’t spent any lab-time trying it but it seems as if the MK would offer a bit less time to input over the HP. Or is it that you just don’t have to mess with the strange double-hit timing of the mp part that you prefer?
What I’m wondering is when you’re doing the SJC into dash or Ultra, are you doing a tiger knee notation? Or are you doing QCF, QCF KKK, then pressing UF?
Also, I figured I’d ask this here. I have one of those new Samsung LED TVs. Do any of you think a TV like this, which is know to have terrible input lag, is affecting my timing? I can get the SJC into dash or Ultra one in 10 times, but I feel like I’ve gotten the motions down. I’m just wondering if my TV could be affecting me at all, since most people seem to want to get CRT’s or the Evo monitor.
Here’s my 2 cents on the SJC into ultra.
You have to understand what’s going on in the move to fully be able to consistently pull it off. I get it now and all I have to do is work on timing.
Here’s what I’m currently practicing. I’m starting small with a simple s.LK>s.MK xU2
First, learn how to SJC the s.MK in the first two hits of the combo.
Press s.LK then IMMEDIATELY input :qcf::uf: (which is the 1st half of the ultra) then press s.MK
with the same timing you would use to do the target combo. Ibuki should jump cancel as soon as
the s.MK lands. What’s happening is while you are doing the target combo, your qcfuf motion is
accepted and cancels the s.MK as it lands putting Ibuki into her super jump animation. What we
want to do next is cancel the super jump animation and go straight into the ultra.
Once you can consistently do s.LK> :qcf::uf:> s.MK (SJC a target combo) add a
second :qcf::uf: + KKK before Ibuki leaves the ground to super jump with the same
timing you would use to cancel the s.MK into something else. It’s like canceling a HP into
an SRK except the HP is the super jump and the SRK is the second half of the ultra.
Keep in mind that you need to keep your two qcfuf motions close together as you would
with any super/ultra combo.
I’ve tried and tried and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.
I can get it maybe 1/10 tries. Or ill get it twice in a row, but then not again for awhile.
There’s a trick to it and I can’t figure out what it is. I’ve tried different speeds and everything and I just can’t consistently execute a TK kunai. It always comes out as her doing a SJ and then whatever punch button I pressed.
so i just figured out what i was doing wrong for the sjc ultra. it wasnt an issue of buffering the motion, but rather, my timing for pressing KKK. i just do it when the hp hits in her lp >mp> hp target combo and when the mk hits in the lk>mk>hk target combo. idk why the lk > mk one is easier to sjc ultra. perhaps the mk comes out slower?
Second kick, since that is the move that is jump cancelable.
I don’t know if there’s a really reliable way to TK Kunai by itself. I’ve had better success doing one from a TC and then SJC. If you’re just doing it by itself, just do a regular jump (back, forward, or neutral, probably back in this case cus you’re zoning/running away) and then input the fireball motion really fast. Easy.
