It’s either the too cool for the room attitude that “Hey I got smashed for 8 years, now it’s my turn to smash new players!” or “This is the only game I had noteriety for so don’t change it” which seems to be the underlying reason a lot of people want the game to remain the same. There has been a ggpo version out for a min and if there was that much love for the old version they would play that. Thats obviously not the underlying issue. What I think it comes down to is the fact that a rebalance would level the 8 year head start. If SF4 and Marvel are such scrubby easy game than why are only new players and established good people winning? Maybe it’s not the game? There will always a group of dudes who when they realize they are ass at the game everyone is playing, they run to the next one.

Not even dude. Hdr had bigger turnout than t6 and bb last year. For no real reason it was dropped from the lineup after a pad gief won at evo. I wanted to see more nippon and korean players on hdr in '11, but didn’t happen
Do people who don’t play 3s ever get tired of slamming the game? Just need to skim the article to know he has an axe to grind, and frankly, someone with such distaste for 3s is hardly someone whose opinion I give a fuck about when it comes to the game I love.

Lol at people claiming James Chen wrong when the stats show he is dead on. He didn’t name other characters that made top 8 that weren’t Chun and Yun. But he amount of time each (Chun and Yun… not counting secondaries) was right.
I don’t really care about the balance/unbalance argument or whatever. What Sirlin said and the way he said it was pretty ridiculous. Play what you like, if you like 3S then play 3S, if you like ST play ST, if you like Clay Fighter 64 then play that. If your not having fun (unless your just wicked good and winning some decen t $$$) then whats the point of playing a game.

If some people were playing the game for 15 years, even in japan, it means they don’t want any change whatsoever, or else they’ll would have stopped playing and maybe also move on to different games a long time ago.
I don’t agree with Sirlin at all. 3s has been consistently played for ten yrs. Common sense would tell you not to rebalance. Also what I don’t get is if he’s been playing for ten yrs as well why cry about a rebalance now wtf. You should know your matchups and have your tools to win down imo. Sounds like he just hates playing yun/chun more than anyone else. This game was to cater to OGs n help bring in new players so really just stfu n play.

i find it odd that this thread was started with sirlin’s blog post, basically insulting haunts and his review, not to mention the game and essentially the fans of this “shallow” game, just to hook us in and go to sirlins site to see haunts’ response. nice hook for what’s totally going to be a great conversation starter. not to mention the thread title or anything:rolleyes:
The only thing I really despise is when people bring up Kuroda as a point that somehow 3S isn’t that badly balanced INSTEAD of the point that Kuroda is just THAT FUCKING GODLIKE.
