David Sirlin is a major douche cunt. I have always hated this prick and he is a major scrub when it comes to 3S.

yes, 3s has a SLIGHT imbalance to it. It is only slight though.
I play with Necro, and I have reached a point with him that I can fight players evenly that are just as good as me who pick Chun, Ken, Yun, Mak, Dud, Yang, Urien, etc.

No game is balanced. Starcraft is the most bullshit excuse for “balance” to ever occur. Terran is the best race in that game. Marine Medic push into science vessels vs Zerg. The only way you lose is if your opponent severely fucks up your push timing and somehow manages to fuck up your science vessels. Which at anything other than high level play is extremely difficult to do. Terran vs Protoss becomes an absolute joke if the Protoss doesn’t get an advantage before the 2nd or 3rd factory is up.
I play Terran, it’s really simple. 3S is balanced outside of Sean and Twelve. If it wasn’t guys like Pierrot wouldnt absolutely shit on Chuns and Yuns. same for PinoAB7’s/Sugiyamas etc etc etc those “low tiers” just have a different way to go about things but they still can get the job done. David Sirlin is a dumbass too. He pretends like ST is a pinnacle of fighting games when in reality its even worse balanced than 3rd Strike and by a Huge margin.
I think I’ve explained it to you at least twice. Because he read the 1up game review and the discussion of why they didn’t change it caught his interest. Having had his attention drawn to the subject, he decided to put a post about up in his blog. Without the 3S release or the Haunts review, there wouldn’t have been any occasion (or convenient example) for the discussion.

Some of you seem to believe that Sirlin and I share the exact same viewpoint on this. If you’ll look at what I’ve posted in this thread, almost all of it has been clarifying Sirlin’s point to those who have misread it. I’ve barely argued *for *Sirlin at all, and I’ve acknowledged some healthy counterpoints to his stance. So why are you expecting me to respond to all criticisms of Sirlin’s article? I’m not Sirlin. Believe it or not, I started the thread because I was interested in reading some reasons why Sirlin might not be entirely correct.
As for you wanting this thread to be closed, I don’t get it. Is someone forcing you to keep coming back to the thread? You need a mod for it to be closed so you don’t have to deal with it anymore?
So are ST and 3S really, especially outside Japan. I know there’s still a group that plays it hardcore and competitively, but its a small, essentially closed group. They have about as much current impact on the general scene as HDR does.
