hey peeps!! Fellow sg-rean here :D. Din know there was a sg thread in here… happened to chance upon it. How do you guys know each other btw? I often hang out at Bugis to play SF4 but the pros there are seriously omg… I dunno their names but I know quite a number of them by sight… they’re always playing there every weekend lols.
Sup luvselina4. Yup, some of us know each other from playing past Capcom games like 3s and CVS2, some people on here I’ve yet to meet.
The ‘pros’ at Bugis are indeed very good, but I believe that SF4 is an accessible enough game to learn the basics really quick. Which characters you play? Maybe I can hook you up with the respective ‘pros’ of that char so you can learn from him.

Hmm I usually play Ryu and Blanka… tbh the timing for the combos are quite tough to make them all connect.
What characters do u play?? =)
You played CVS2? Perhaps we might have played…I played K Maki, Rock and Hibiki back in the day.
I wouldn’t worry too much about combos. I’m assuming you’re having problems with FADC cancel and link combos right? Don’t worry, many of the ‘pros’ screw up their combos as well. Just keep practicing, there’s no other way.

I play at Bugis and PS and if you see someone scrubbing it up with Rufus, making people shake their heads wondering how they lost to random Ex-Messiah kicks, yes that’s me.
Wish I could make it this friday but I can’t. Prior arrangements. Will definately try to make it to future tourneys though.
And yes, the Kiasu Singaporean “Why enter if I can’t win” mentality pisses me off too. I’m thinking that’s probably why the Versus League died out. Damn shame.

Can I register for the tourney on friday itself? Its this coming friday right? 15th Jan? And you’re right… I’m having some major problem coming out Ryu’s ultra after a DP -> FADC cancel… everything comes out perfectly except the ultra LoL. BUT I can do an ex-fireball -> FADC cancel into ultra without a hitch. Definitely a pyschological problem I think lol.
Heeeyy~ I think I’ve seen u around. Did you play at PS last saturday? Were you the dood wearing striped shirt and specs? A little bit on the plump side? Cos there was only one Rufus player that night and you fit the bill perfectly… you kept throwing random ex-messiah kicks especially on wake up hahaha. There was a heavily tattoo-ed dude there as well, his zangief is wicked man.
Well anyways if you’re the person that I’m talking about I’m the tall skinny Ryu player. I asked you to continue playing even though I put a token on your machine after you lost cos my cousin was already playing :looney:
Actually tbh, I’m kinda like the kiasu sgrean too… but its not about not being able to win the tourney but more like if I enter the tourney and I meet a super pro in the first round wouldn’t that be kinda sad lol. I know there’s always an outside chance of winning and I would like to see how I stand against the best after practising for so long but in most cases I’ll lose and I can’t go furthur in the tourney anymore :arazz:

It’s a shame that the SF4 machines are not set to freeplay mode for the tournament. I’ll try to make it down with my scrubby Guile (or maybe Chun?)

Tournament update:
Machines will be set to Tournament mode, which meansafter each match it ‘resets’.
And more importantly, games will be going at 50cents a pop. =)

yea i’m the Ryu/Boxer player lol… My boxer sucks atm cos I just started using him like a week ago so his combos don’t come naturally to me yet. Aww man dun remind me of those failed Ultras lol… happens everytime actually 
Thanks… your Rufus solid too… those dive kicks and random ex-messiahs are bloody irritating lol. I din know you taunted my cousin but yea he’s a hardcore turtle player sometimes lol~ Not to mention Blanka turtles are really tough to play against.
Hope to see u at PS sometime again dude… I’ll probably be heading there today and tomorrow (Sat) at about 9+ or 10pm. Will be going to Bugis first to check out the tourney. Hope I can register for it. :rock:

Hey good to see you in the thread Acidic. I always find joy playing with people who post on SRK. You may not be the best player around the block now, but I’m sure you’ll get better real quick because you read up and are in the know as to what’s happening with SF globally. =)

I’m glad you liked the tourney! It being fun is the highest compliment I can get, that’s all I was aiming for really. I’ll definitely be hosting the next one very soon.
And yes, I alternate between El Fuerte and C.Viper, depending on who I’m confident with on the day. These days I feel my Viper’s alot better tho…but I’ve got a bag of new Fuerte tricks I wanna try out next time I’m at Bugis so we’ll see how that goes haha.
Haha yea the whole tourney was fun~ I liked it being set in group stages… gives u more chances to qualify for the round robin matches. When will the next one be? I read your blog and it said 2 weeks time… should be on a friday night right?
You did talk to me actually, you asked me where I played cos you hadn’t seen me around b4 lol. I registered as Hanyi and I used Ryu. Was one of the last few to register lol.
I see, I watched a couple of vids of your C.Viper and tot it looked a lot stronger than your Fuerte but that being said, your Fuerte’s no push over too. Look forward to seeing ur new moves the next tourney =)

I’m looking to form a Singapore-wide community consisting of arcade, Xbox and PS3 players. As for bringing everyone into the BOB forums, I’m just worried that it will be hard to get PS3 users to feel ‘at home’ at a BrotherHood Of the Box forum if you know what I mean.
What do you think of a Singapore-wide SF4 forum? Maybe you can moderate the XBOX Live subsection? Just thinking out loud.
